...... THE FREE VERSION OF TOONTOWN IS TOO LIMITED.
I have a feeling that I have a 80% chance of getting my membership back before or on my birthday, November 19, 2008. My membership ended September 1st and I really miss membership.

Anyhow, I don't like the restrictions one bit except for the reasonable ones and the ones where you can use a glitch to get through.

Here's is my list of crazy things.
(Note: All the caps are the most outrageous in my opinion.)

1. YOU CANT BUY A THING IN THE CATALOG! Might as well restrict the whole phone its self.

2. I ordered a shirt before I lost my membership, and when I came back it was in my mailbox, but I COULDN'T GET IT OUT!!! JBs down the drain!

3. You cant even go into other playgrounds gag shops. GAG SHOPS! They are all the exact same thing!

4.(Last and biggest of all) I CANT TALK !!!OUT LOUD!!! WITH SF, I HAVE TO DO THE WHISPER GLITCH ALL THE TIME! DO YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING THAT GETS??????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????? ????????

*Do not say, "But why don't you just buy more time" or "Buy more subscription time"*


Conclusion all I'm saying is "If we have SFs let us still be able to talk to them out loud without that annoying glitch you have to do"

No offence but..

1. If you could buy everything in eh cattalog well, uuh, Ensted of not buying anything, why casn;t Disney elt them buy SOME. (Maybe only max 12 furnature) (members: 20)

2.Once you re-subcribe, you cna egt it back.

3. I know, but they only let you go into other playground so you could check how the other playground look like.

4. If you didn't subcribe at all, you wouldn't have the wisper gltich. (Hint hitn: GLTICH) (It is a cool one)

I was fooling around with my free account, and stumbled across something:
Have a friend (who's a member) go inside a shop (outside of TTC), and you can teleport in.
However, you can't talk to the shop owner.
Maybe it'll get you into the gag shops in other playgrounds.
Anyone willing to play with this glitch a little with me right now ?
Like that one shop where you can get the salute, or the gag shop.

@dooney, When your not a member you can still talk to SF, by clicking on them, choosing whisper, and without clicking the blue button, just type something, and Shazam!


Wow I just posted this like 5 minutes ago and already have a few answers. This forum is a lot more alive than I remembered.

It's not a "free version" per se, it's a trial. Meaning, you get to TRY the game. If they made everything unrestricted then it would be a free game to play and that is not going to happen b/c it's Disney and they want to make money. THe restrictions are there for a reason, to give you a big enough glimpse into the game to entice you to BUY the game.

So IMO the restrictions aren't ridiculous they are there for a valid reason. Be happy with what you have. Not to long ago the free trial was only for three days and you could only stay in TTC. Then it switched to unlimited time but you still had to stay in TTC. No you can see the whole game. I think free players get more than enough.

I agree. I mean, TT really limit us! My frend has just started and cant afford a sub. He's not even allowed to race!

I understand why they need restrictions, and I'm thankful that I can at least visit other playgrounds =P Something that really frustrates me though about the guest limit is the fact that you can't take things out of your mailbox. Come ON! My friends had gifted me heaps before I was a member, and when I never used them they deleted me because they thought I didn't appreciate them when in reality I couldn't take things out of my mailbox >_> Another thing is that you can't go to gag shops other than TTC. It's really, really unconvenient. Especially if I'm in a place like DDL, then I have to go aaaaaaaall the way back to TTC, restock my gags, then go aaaaaaaaall the way back to DDL. Gahhh. All the other parts of the restrictions I understand... although they do really frustrate me. But what can 'ya do, it's not like we have control over Disney =/

If you have a restricted account, instead of running back to toontown, you can teleport to GSW ( if you have been there beforehand).

I also think the changes are a bit much. Before, you could race, accept gifts from friends and even buy a doodle. You couldn't purchase from the catalog but if you have friends, you may not need to.

free accounters can buy a doodle...only from TTC of course and you can only have 1 trick (jump) obviously because you cannot buy from the cattlelog.

personally, i want to buy the game but i'm a poor college student lol. But for now i'm fine with trying to max out Raven Sparkleswirl's gags (maxxing = level 5 lol) and working on my newbie Periwinkle

Disney have gone far enough. I don't think it needs more - Disney NEEDS that money. It can't be. Free Account - EVERYTHING but cog hq's for free - Disney would not get any money and the game would shut down.

The Toontown Free Accounts aren't restricted per say, it's just the members have more to do, Disney treat their members better because they want to keep them playing Toontown - they want to keep their existing customers.

The Free Members have a limited ammount to do, but thats business these days, the free members want to see more and do more, so they have no choice but to buy it. I think Disney give what is right for Free Members, giving them a taster of the game - you've said it yourself, that you want more out of Toontown, and what is your only choice = SUBSCRIBE.

exactly! even though i, as a free account holder, would LOVE to do more for free, it would be REALLY bad business for Disney. As it is they give the trial people the right amount of the game to keep them wanting more and entice them to buy the game. I think, from a business perspective, they are doing absolutely the right thing. From a gamer perspective, sure i wish the whole thing was free lol (lovin' the new pumpkin smileys!!)

I have also been frustrated by the game, as I have posted in multiple threads. However, disney HAS to charge money for it, or how else would they pay all the people who created, designed, and continue to manage the game today???

Get $5 together on a credit card and just pay for a month and cancel the day befores it's up if you want to pay that badly.

Count yourself luckier than me, I do not possess a credit card, and now's not the best time to ask the 'rents about buying computer games during my college app. process.

I dont care about exploring neighborhoods, Ive already maxed, sound, throw,squirt, and drop. I dont care about bosses or factories, mints,DA offices, or cog golf courses. You cant take items out of your mailbox?! Give me a break. You've gotta see the crazyness in that!!!

Do you get allowance? Probably so. Buy it with your allowance for a month. Only 10 dollors. I quit Toontown for WoW and (kind of) Spore. I could have still gotten Toontown but my dad said that I would have to use my allowance for toontown and i'm saving for all the wii games so I couldn't do that.
