How the cogs were made.

I don't know if there's already a thread on this but I found the following wikipedia entry:


Cogs
According to the story of Toontown, the Cogs are business-loving robots bent on forever changing Toontown into a business empire. In early versions of Toontown, an introductory Flash animation showed a back-story of the Cogs creation: Gyro Gearloose invented the Cogs for Scrooge McDuck. In his greed, Scrooge didn't wait for Gyro to come into the room; he thought that since a very tall robot in the corner was made for him, the "DO NOT TOUCH" sign didn't apply. As is expected, he wired the huge robot wrong. The result was the robot walking over to a machine, pushing some buttons, and making Cogs. It is implied that the robot is still making them, as Cogs fly into Toontown in an endless cycle.

I read another origin story. Can't for the life of me remember where, which I've adopted for my own story;

Scrooge McDuck commisioned Gyro Gearloose to build the Cogs so that they could make him more money. When they demanded a pay rise he refused, so they rebelled.

On the old website, there was an actual true video of how Scrooge made the cogs by pressing a button. You can't access it now, it is buried.

That was actually a Duck Tales episode lol

Every time Gyro makes Scrooge a robot he always does something screwy with it... oh well, toons are toons

How the cogs were made, Unknown. That story/movie, is one that Toontown abbanded. So no one actuctuly knows how cogs were made.

I heard the cogs created toons becasue the cogs were wondeering why they were the only creature so they created another one. I think the Spin Doctor created the toon. And Mickey Mouse like kept making more and more toons until there was a whole army of toons. If you are imaging what I'm saying it looks pretty cool! Anyway the toons thought of funny things like throwing cupcakes and pies at the cogs well one day a toon decided to do that on a Flunky... and well lets say that was when the war started. Toons of the world, unite!

I like the version of the story you heard, generalkyle. It's something new that you can think about. Not to mention, I like that idea much more than the original one. ^^;
I can even imagine the Toon-hitting-Flunky-with-cupcake scene.
A Toon is just walking along, and they see a Flunky, doing nothing but minding its own business. The Toon decides to throw a spare cupcake they had from lunch at them, you know, just for giggles. The Flunky starts laughing, and the Toon doesn't think that's a bad thing, until their body starts spinning madly and then...BAM!
