Thumbs up Speedchat plus [Merged]

MODS: if this should go in secret swapping srry

If you look at the bottom of the email newsletter here next month's stuff is it says speedchat plus. Do you think this is like Pirates of the Carribean or VMK where you can only type stuff that's in a pre-approved dictionary. This would be a big relief to people like me, my parents won't verify their age with a credit card, so I believe that this was loong overdue.

Isn't speedchat plus where you can talk to like anyone freely? Well if it is... I really hope they don't make it too limited where it's hard to say anything!

If speedchat plus is like the online dictionary... I don't think there's any need to put it on TT.

if they do speedchat plus I really wouldnt like it. It would be much easier for people to greif little children on the game and It would create a lot more spamming.

heres the newsletter
August is new Trolley Games month, and Toons are having a blast all over Toontown! The Toon Council is excited to release four brand-new Trolley Games -- with a new game launching every week. So far Toons are sliding into fun with the Ice Slide game, becoming Toon shutterbugs with the Photo Fun game, and having some wacky side-scrolling fun in Toon Escape. Ride any neighborhood Trolley to check them out! Plus, we have one more to go -- and it looks like it just might "steal the show." Stay Tooned for the fourth new Trolley Game -- coming next week!

Toons can also test their Trolley Game skills with the Perfect Trolley Games Weekend! Starting this Saturday, August 23 at midnight PST and running through Sunday, August 24, for a full 48 hours. Play as many Trolley Games as your Toon can, and the top 5 Toons who achieve the most "perfect" Trolley Game scores, per neighborhood, per day, will win a copy of "Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds Concert: The 3-D Movie" DVD!

The Toon Council is pleased to share another "Toon Enough!" selection! Toontown modeler extraordinaire Greg built a Toontastic 3-D Bossbot C.E.O. He's definitely "Toon Enough!" Click here to check it out!

Do you love Toontown so much that you bake real cream pies, or host Toontown-themed parties, maybe even paint portraits of your Doodle? If so, you may be "Toon Enough!" The Toon Council is sending out the call -- show us how "Toon Enough!" you are in your everyday life. Every month we will spotlight a Toontown fan who has brought the game from the computer into their real life. Click here for details on how to submit along with the official submission form. You may just see yourself in the next edition of The Toontown Times!

Dear Toontown,
I reported another Toon that keeps hopping off elevators, but why are they still in Toontown?
Cheryl

Dear Cheryl,
If you report a Toon for displaying any "un-Toon" like behavior -- that Toon is not immediately removed from the game. First, your report is sent to a Moderator for review, including any associated True Friends Open Chat between any Toons who are involved with the report. If the Moderators find any violations of the Disney House Rules, they will then take the appropriate action. Please note that the Moderators cannot see any SpeedChat that has occurred between players. Also, any actions that are taken on players who have violated the Disney House Rules are private, and will not be reported back to the player who sent in the report. We hope this helps. You can also learn more in the Toontown FAQs.

Well yes it is.
But i'm sure what they're going to do is people 13 up can chat freely and unger people can't see it.

I haven't gotten my mail.
Can someone print it out and post it so I may see it?
I stopped getting my email and mail because disney decided to break the contract. to stop getting mail you undsubscribe. I see they can unsubscribe people without telling them or stop giving them my mail because they don't care.

Talking Any idea on what the SpeedChat Plus is?

I noticed that there is a SpeedChat Plus coming soon. It said in the monthly email letter. Is it somthing new with the SpeedChat for Toontown? Or is it for the other games or whatever? Obviously I'm not expecting correct answers because none of us know, but I want to hear some ideas on what it might be.

SpeedChat Plus = Chat with ONLY allowed words.

That's what they call it on other games. If that's the case I'm DEFINITLY leaving Toontown.

Yeah, on pirates when I was 12 though it was pretty bad cause you could say something like "run" but you couldn't say "running" or "runs". I hope Toontown is logical and lets you have common prefixes and suffixes.

And, with Speedchat +, we might not be able to use numbers... we'll have to say one, four, seven... etc. And for things like double digets we'll have to say for example 11 - "One one" ...

I really hope there is a way where you have more limited words like on POTCO if your over 13 then you get more words in your dictionary... but if your 12 or under you'll have less to say.

I'm pretty sure Speedchat Plus is something related to all of Disney.com. I had received an email before telling me of the new feature, and if you look on the Disney.com control panel(aka what was once Disney XD), you can find it says

"SpeedChat Plus - Chat with other Disney members by using words included in the Disney SpeedChat Plus dictionary. Words that are not in the dictionary will be highlighted in red. You then have the opportunity to choose alternative words prior to sending your message. If you choose to turn-off SpeedChat Plus, you will be defaulted to SpeedChat, where you can chat with other Disney members by choosing from a pre-approved list of questions and statements."

So I guess this is basicly bringing "Disney XD" back into Toontown.

How would that make sense? If it's Speedchat Plus we're talking about, anyone can hear it, not just whos saying it.

Does this mean they're taking away My Phrases? What about all the fun we have with the current Speedchat, and goofing around with it? I'm not sure I agree with...
EDIT: And then I read the above post.

If this changes anything we have now, I'm going to get mad. If it adds a new feature while keeping current ones, fine. I have seen the definition on it before, yes, and hope it doesn't change much. Otherwise I'm writing a complaint.

If Speed-Chat Plus is the deal, it means that POTCO has been their little testers. We'll have a bit of a more basic dictionary I believe, but at least now we can say things like "Sorry, my computer froze" and such to our friends who did not understand.

Ehh, it's kinda confusing. I'm kinda directing to POTCO, if your 12 or under you will automatically get the Speedchat + dictionary... and if your 13 you get "Open Chat", which gives you more freedom to talk. Open Chat lets you say anything... except the ones that aren't allowed such as bad words or spam... Anyone who uses Speedchat + might not be able to hear people on Open Chat cause some of the Open Chats words aren't in the Speedchat + dictionary. People with Open Chat although, can read anything that of Open Chat, and Speechat +.

Thing is, they haven't mentioned Open Chat, so we may be very limited on what we say... or if were lucky Toontown will let us have lots of words to say... but I doubt it... we may never be able to say something like [name, numbers(3, 4, 5, etc.), some words that have prefixes and suffixes).

It sounds confusing but I think we'll all understand when it comes.
