I have two kids of my own and know how scary CBHQ can seem. Even to an adult, it can seem a very scary place! It's dark and noisy but on the other hand, probably a good place to try before she experiences BBHQ! LOL
Has she watched you play your toon over your shoulder in a mint? The best way you can get her in there is exposure and you reassuring her it's ok!! Would she be ok letting you play her toon for her in a mint? It's good for her though to do all her own tasks. Not sure what else to suggest but watching you do a mint would certainly help I guess.

The suggestion in previous post is an excellent idea. Let her see it's not really scarey at all.
I'm an adult and I have some good friends on tt that happen to be kids. Sometimes its reasurring to a child to go with other children that arent scared that are experienced good players. I would be glad to ask one of them to help her and if you need me there I'll come too. |

Your daughter is doing great and it seems like she just needs to get over this one little bump in the road. Myself or my young son (on my toon) would be happy to go in with you both and guide her through it. Just let us know and we will set up a run!

My daughter loves the "jumpy" things in the mint. What I did to make her comfortable, is when I went in the mint with friends, I let her do the jumps (when we aren't in a hurry). Then, I could get her to do the next set of cogs. She still likes to jump my toon. A friend of hers needed mints, and she ran in without looking back.
Find out which part bothers her, go in working one toon and you play the part she doesn't want to. |

Oh Captain! What a predicament your in now, hee hee! Well, I'd be more than happy to go with you all through a Mint. I hope she remembers me from last time, it's been awhile since I've seen her! Let me know and I'll be there to help, as long as it's not Friday or after cause I'll be on vacation

I would go with Mildew's idea. My wife and I do the same often enough with our daughter (not really the same reason but with exposure to more of TT in mind). With an adult to guide her and all those fun big gags at her disposal its likely to be more exciting than scarey

Thank to all for your kind suggestions and offers to help (and Penelope, she does remember you)! I appreciate them!
I wasn't totally clear. She has been in the mint before (several times, actually), but one time, she fell into the trap with the goons in it, where you have to get to the little elevator/lift in the corner to get out. She couldn't see where the elevator was for some reason, and she went sad from goon-beams. She got upset from that, and NOW she won't go back in, and she doesn't want me to drive her toon for her, either. She also doesn't like crossing the railroad tracks out in the CBHQ, either. I just think she's not ready. Work is absolutely nuts right now, and I'm having to cut back on TT time. Should I tell her to do something else for awhile (work on another toon, maybe)? Any other ideas? I don't know why, but it makes me feel a little better hearing your suggestions. I've been kinda worried about her. :-( Thanks again! |

Hmm, I have an idea! If she can't get past the goons and can't find the elevator and won't let you on her toon, I think she might need to learn how to pass the stompers, or the ( Get in the gray glitch in the Goon Room.) And And tell her to look both ways when she is crossing the railroad tracks. ( Like crossing the street.
)Or wait until a train comes,on the railroad track she is going to cross, and right after thatcross the railroad tracks. I hope I help! ( I will make a pic of The elevator for her if she gets stuck again.

That stomper room you mention where she went sad, I always glitch there, most of the time because my laptops can just automatically do that. What kind of computer do you have? I think the older ones are easier, but if yours is newer or has good graphics, might not be as easy. If it is old, then tell her that when she goes to the elevator thingy up the first time, crash into the side right next to the wall. If you do it right, you can easily get into the gray and glitch past the whole thing.
Or, if that wouldn't work, get her to change the camera view by pressing the tab. This way you might be able to see the way out easier. Those goons can be tricky. What I do when not glitching to get past the gears, wait for the first one to move back to the wall. Run then, and just keep moving forward, making sure the gears you're running to next are moving back so you can move forward. If you do it right, you'll make it through without falling as long as you keep as close to the wall as you can. Hope this suggestion helps.

My son has fallen down there before too. If he does, I just jump down there myself, and have him follow my toon to the elevator thing. It's easier for them to see the parent's toon and follow them than to find a gray thing in a sea of other gray things. Maybe you could offer that suggestion to her and see if she goes for that? Oh, and she doesn't need to worry about the traintracks if you only do coin mints.

If I can ever get her in there again, I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks. |

Good luck... Seems likes theres lots of awesome people here that are willing to help out a young child to get through the daunting task. Feel free to let me know if you need any more assistance.
(another thing you might want to consider, have a couple TU unites handy just in case she needs em)
