What IS a noob?

Hiya! Some of you may know me as Sprout, from zarentron3's stories. (The Council's Series)

Lately, I have noticed a decline in general knowledge of the definition of the word 'noob'.

Firstly, there are generally three commonly used definitions of the word 'noob' and only one is right! Which one? Read on...

Firstly, some toons will call a new player a noob. This is incorrect. The correct term for an inexperienced new player is a newb, or short for newbie. If you are new and are called that by a more experienced player, don't fret! He's not insulting you!

Secondly, there is the term 'noob' used by griefers and other toons who take delight in making other toons miserable. In this instance, while the word is correct, the application is not! Being a noob in this instance is a boon.

You see, that brings us to the third usage- remember that griefer I was talking about last paragraph? THOSE are the true noobs. Toons who intentionally try to hurt one another, or make life harder for toonkind everywhere are the kinds of players that can be easily recognized in three ways:

A: They will generally use Stinky Phrases randomly towards you or other toons
B: They will intentionally try to make you sad or otherwise make it harder for you to play.
C: They will often be found in high-density areas such as Nutty River VP lobby, CCG runs (unfourtunatly), and playgrounds.

HOWEVER, there are some things that are NOT noobs!

What is NOT a noob:

A: A high laff-toon unwilling to help you with your 2 story building in Donald's Dock. Just because another toon is unwilling to help doesn't make them a noob. Sometimes they are helping another person, or are busy. If you REALLY need help, you could try recruiting more toons around your skill level, or switching districts if a building you need is taken over by a cog!

B: On the other hand, a low level toon in a high level area is not automatically a noob. Sometimes younger toons simply like to explore. Even if they try to get in every street battle you go in, they're just trying to help! It's often a great way to get those mentoring toontasks finished! In a building situation, if you're not already full, why not let them join? If you ARE full, oftentimes, a polite explanation of why they can't come will suffice.

C: Glitchers. Unless they're using glitches intentionally to harm you or someone else, people who use glitches are most often doing it for fun.

Now that you know how to SPOT a noob, how should you deal with them?

Firstly, the easiest and least messy way of dealing with someone who's harassing you is to leave. Switch districts, or find a different street to train on. If they're on your friends list, and they won't respect your wishes, you can always delete them. If you're in a situation where you can't leave, such as a building or boss run, ignoring them also works. If, though, they're doing things that are harming you and the team, oftentimes if you simply don't react and just pick gags or do actions that counteract the griefing, they'll stop. If they don't, you can always report them after the battle.

So, assuming you've read this, you now know how to spot a noob, how to spot a non-noob, and how to deal with them. I close on this-

Without something to bond it together, a machine will fall apart. The same is with any online game- if the community is at each other's throats, nothing can get done. When everyone works as a team and helps each other, often, there is nothing that can't be done. (well, in the boundaries of the programming, of course!)

And as always, I bid you adu with a portal refrence.

Griefer: "Onoz, I just got trapped in a wall for no reason after choosing a bike horn on lured cogs!"

Toon 1: "Well, it looks like the pie is on the other foot!"

Toon 2: "...what?"

Toon 1: "The griefer has been vanquished with the power of teamwork and weird glitches!"

Toon 3: "No longer will he threaten us with evil shenanigans or small gags on a row of level 12 cogs! I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot rake!"

Griefer: "I don't blame you, i'm evil! "

Toon 2: "Speaking of glitches..."

The pie misses Mr. Hollywood! Mr. Hollywood apparently is intangible!

Mr. Hollywood: "THE PIE IS A LIE!"

And with that, Ciao!

Not really.

Agree

Secondly, there is the term 'noob' used by griefers and other toons who take delight in making other toons miserable. In this instance, while the word is correct, the application is not! Being a noob in this instance is a boon.

Why?Please give more examples.

You see, that brings us to the third usage- remember that griefer I was talking about last paragraph? THOSE are the true noobs. Toons who intentionally try to hurt one another, or make life harder for toonkind everywhere are the kinds of players that can be easily recognized in three ways:

C: They will often be found in high-density areas such as Nutty River VP lobby, CCG runs (unfourtunatly), and playgrounds.
D:They don't listen to other toons. They are mostly young kids, and he will ruin your factory by getting into the foreman room without invasion but you have told him to wait!

In a building situation, if you're not already full, why not let them join? If you ARE full, oftentimes, a polite explanation of why they can't come will suffice.

Righto.
P.S:If he wanted to do a building without any gags then he is a newbie.

C: Glitchers. Unless they're using glitches intentionally to harm you or someone else, people who use glitches are most often doing it for fun.

If he used a glitch that makes you goes sad,you should report him.

Now that you know how to SPOT a noob, how should you deal with them?

Firstly, the easiest and least messy way of dealing with someone who's harassing you is to leave. Switch districts, or find a different street to train on. If they're on your friends list, and they won't respect your wishes, you can always delete them.

Not much possible.A noob will follow you to everywhere. And most of the toons cannot leave river. So the best way is:

1.Delete that noob friend(if he is on your friend list)
2.Ignore him
3.Teleport to another playground/your house/some place he can't reach
4.Done!

If you're in a situation where you can't leave, such as a building or boss run, ignoring them also works.

Not possible during boss runs. You will crash if you do.

If, though, they're doing things that are harming you and the team, oftentimes if you simply don't react and just pick gags or do actions that counteract the griefing, they'll stop. If they don't, you can always report them after the battle.

Toon 3: "No longer will he threaten us with evil shenanigans or small gags on a row of level 12 cogs! I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot rake

Doubt about it.You can use a small bike horn on a row of 12s by using Toontanic Or train Track.

Comments are in bold.

BTW that joke makes me ROFL.
