I...I like toontown. You probably do to. I'm ok with that. What i am not ok with is people staying inside when their friends are having fun OUTSIDE. For all kids or teens out there: These are the golden years not when we are 60 and crippled! These are the times to hold on to and remember for your whole life and not remember maxing the VP. So please please! Go outside with your friends and go to the creek or run around. I just realized when I'm 21 or so I'll have great responsibities for my kids and all the bills etc. Maybe then I'll realize: Hey, I'm father i need to support my family not play outside or play TT. I want to remeber the loooong days out-side comin out on the morning goin in at night with all my friends having the best time in the world. Except you are inside staring at a screen. Video tape yourself playing toontown. You will see yourself most likely with your head on your hand with a blank stare on your face. Then video tape yourself outside with your friends and you tell me which one you would want to remember as yourself. I'm not saying don't play TT I'm just saying put it as a low,low priority.

THESE are the days we will remember and they will not last forever.

Um, well. I don't have much of a reply to this. Not everyone plays Toontown consently. If that's your problem? Is it?

Generally, I agree. On the other hand, I remember afternoons and late nights playing Atari with a great deal of fondness as well. In the end, I find that it was the friendships and camaraderie that were meaningful, not the activity. All that being said, TT will be more likely to leave you pale and fat, so get out there and exercise!

I won't disagree with this. In my experience, most people spend their entire lives reacting to their lives as teenagers. The things that attract you as a teen will tend to attract you all your life. And the things that hurt you as a teen will likely drive your parenting, careers, and interests. No one is asking teens to choose their career, but these are the years that build who you are and become.

OK. Time for my medication. Anyone seen my cane?

Hey LOL there's a lot of sprightly 60+ yr olds out there who can still get up and about and actively enjoy life you know !!! (I am saying this light-hearted, don't take me the wrong way), oh and FYI, I'm not 60 for a long while yet.

This is, however, a good message to people. It is good to get outside and do things - be active - and there's also time to relax and take it easy. A bit of both will do you the world of good - its all about getting the balance right.

Great message but unfortunately, some kids do not understand the meaning of exercise. I know, myself, at my school I'm basically the only one who does activities out of school. The rest of my friends sit on the computer all the time after school and do ABSOLUTELY nothing and it really gets on my nerves. I would go crazy not being outside.

I still think this message is good. More people should listen to it.

<snip> I am a <snip> year old wanting to remember the good things in life and not living on the computer. I mainly did this thread to let out how I felt and for people no to be completely un-aware that they are tearing their childhood apart.

I was inspired by a song to make this thread. I don't know It's name though.

Lol yes very true!

This is not really about Social. It's about playing outside having fun. Cause it seems to me people wreck themselves trying to be popular and never have REAL fun.

And, many kids (like us) don't stay on Toontown constently (I cannot because I need to pay my next month of Toontown). Only a few who are too adicted to relize they are missing the importance of childhood and basicly, tell them to GET OFF TOONTOWN AND GO OUTSIDE! I understand this better now.

I needed to hear this ... !!!

Well, I'm an adult and I'm taking this post to heart, great post! Below is a email I actually sent my wife ... 4 months ago and I'm still playing! I thought I was just joking at the time. I'll reprint it here to give you'all a laugh. That said, in my day the game was D&D and I have glorious memories of playing that game all weekend long, LOL! It was a better life than getting my rear-end beat all the time at other stuff ( just kidding ... or am I? ). I had an odd development as a kid, I was budgy fat until the 11th grade and something happened ( best guess is radiation exposure ) and I exploded in muscle and strength and then it was payback to all those who were foolish enough to bully me. TTElders, forgive the duplication, it appears not many of you are active on this forum and since most of my post hasn't warrented a response, I'm getting desparate!

-- email sent to Ally ( my wife ) in February --

Hello, my name is Barry and I'm a toontown-a-holic.

Hi Baaaarry ...

I've been playing toontown for almost 2 months now and it has consumed me utterly. I've lost complete interest in everything else: family, work, other forms of entertainment, even sleep. What's worse, I have no interest in recovery, I'm completely content in the toontown abyss I've created for myself. I feel enlightened in fact - the meaning of life is to sustain yourself so as to play more toontown ( The Buddha would be pleased ). If electrical power, computer and network cababilities, food, shelter ( notice I left out clothing, playing toontown ***** is completely acceptable ) were perpetually available then I would even quit my job. Before you dispense harsh judgement, consider that becoming a cartoon is a far less worse fate than dying in war or calamity. Regardless of accomplishment or disaster, there will always be those who are better or worse off then ourselves, so I'm throwing in the towel and at least I'll have a smile on my face ( with intermittant profanity outbursts whilst in front of the computer ) for the rest of my days.

Long live toons!

I love you immensely - this is a short term interest / obsession, have no fear. This is improvement over playing D&D as least - I don't have to toss you and Will out of the house when I play it. If I'm still glued to the computer in another month, I'll seek help. How's your day, by the way?

No offense, but I hate threads like these -_-. I think people should stick to their own lives.

Well, I took this thread to be fun and not 100% serious. Maybe some good medicine, but nothing more than that.

That said ... you do make a point, our friend here maybe is taking to heart other people's lives/choices a bit too seriously. It is our life, no one elses ( i.e. it's not our parents, not our teachers, not our friends, not the media's... it is ours and we decide how to live it ).

Lol, I play on the computer as much as I go outside. I went to town with friends (for 5 hours FYI) today and coming back I realise the computer is just as fun. But I do agree with you-nice thread! Im also going out tonight to play tennis (which is definitely not as fun as the computer) but at least I get to talk to friends. I do know a few people who need to get out more though.
