SF chat... C'mon already!

First, I am NOT anti-SFchat. However, when you and your SF go in to a mint with 2 other randoms and all you do is speedchat it gets very frustrating. Especially when your conversation is causing the time to run down with no gag choice, or poor gag choices.
To me it is like going out to dinner (or something) with friends and one of your friends just keeps talking on a cell phone.
All I ask is that you remember when you are playing with others in a building or a mint, especially, that you show the others some consideration. At least stop talking long enough to play the battle.
rant over... thanks

It happens.

If you have problems with people chatting, don't go with them.

Plus, I've seen people put a . to make it a bit less frustrating.

I agree when people talk too much and they don't play right, I am guilty of it though, that its really annoying and frustrating, however, the whole talking too much thing I don't. And your comparasion also made no sense because thats your FRIEND talking on the phone not a random person... I wouldn't really care if anyone was getting annoyed if I was talking too much, they don't like it, they can run, I could care less. However, if I was playing badly and someone pointed that out I'd correct myself and play better. But, honestly, if its only cuz I'm chatting its whatever to me, I really don't care and I definitely wont stop. I'll probably talk more, actually, just to be more of a pain. I really hate when people tell me what to do on toontown when I'm still doing my part on the cog rounds and anything else.

I do that sometimes if I like the person I'm with and I think I'm really talking way too much, or if I'm with 3 sfs and only 1 random... and the randoms cool.

I agree.

I have those friends on my list to chat to.

Not so I can do a mint and refrain from talking to them.

I think that's the OPs point, though; the SFs she's complaining about *aren't* doing their part. They're participating in the mint and getting credit for defeating Cogs, when they're not actually paying attention to the battle at all and sabotaging the other Toons who are.

I haven't really seen people who sf chat a lot. I always do, but I also pay attention to the game. If I miss something, it's more likely because I was reading something here on the forums rather than chatting on the game. But I always do my part, and as long as they do theirs and don't interrupt the game flow, you can't really do much. Just try to use speedchat phrases to quiet them down, but other than that, there isn't much you can do.

Well, I was with 2 toon who SFs chat and they used a dot to make a chat bubble stay. I found that it's annoying because the bubble kinda got in the way when we were at the cog ball and I couldn't see the color of my next ball.

Sometimes, the bubble also covers the gag choice people make so i 'd say better not use a lots of sfs chat while running with random. For me I don't mind but it seems more polite not to do that.

Just like when you're with a group of friend and they talk in another language that you won't understand, don't you feel a bit uncomfortable?

Quick point to make re. the bubble over a toon's head.

Yes, sometimes toons do this on purpose by putting a . before something, maybe to be irritating, maybe to note an invasion starting/finishing.

Sometimes, however, you will see a toon with a bubble over their head when they don't actually know they have one. If you are in DA, Mint, wherever, and you press F2 to check the floor level you are on, and to get rid of this bubble you press ". ENTER", this can lead to anyone who is not your SF to see a bubble, although you cannot see this. So sometimes, people have bubbles without realising it.

As for SF chat, it is part of the game and not much you can do about it unfortunately.

fight back

Normally the SF chat doesn't bother me, but on the occassion when its too much, I start SFing back gibberish ... and a bunch of it! Usually works in them subsiding their chat.

Why does other people's sf chat have to be visible to other toons? Why can't it just be invisible like when you're whispering to somebody? It would be a lot less annoying that way.

Yeah I admit I do that with some of my friends too. Not very often though. I only have a few SFs.

BUT I do agree with u in that we should all try to remember that were supposed to b helping eachother (not just r friends but all toons) Thats what TT is all about...playing with ur friends and having fun.

Sry if Ive ever done that to u and I will try to b more careful in the future.

SF Chat is fine to a point, but it can get out of hand. I have a lot of SFs who just talk talk talk like crazy in Mints/DAs/Facs/CGC and I do not reply much. They want me to jabber around with them, but I realize how annoying it is for the other toons, so I tend not to do it, or just whisper. The bubbles aren't a problem for me except for CGC, but there is so many situations with them as Truly Scrumptuous said, so just have to live with them.

I agree with the poster. If I'm waiting to go in a mint, factory, etc. and two toons are chatting outside the doors I won't even bother going in with them. I think its rude to chat all through the mint.

Deal with it, I usually end up with three other SF's, that aren't my friends.
That do nothing but talk.
Just deal with it, cause I do it, no ones gonna stop.
(Sorry if that sounded rude, but no one is gonna stop, and you should learn to deal with it and ignore it)
But, stinking someone or begging them is gonna make them do it more, just go "Let's use the speedchat" if they say no, just say "Whatever!" or something.
