Griefing here vs other MMORPG's

The main problem with griefing in Toontown, as opposed to other MMORPG's such as World of Warcraft, Everquest (II), and Runescape, is that teamwork is all but required here in order to advance along. In most other MMORPG's, a player can solo the game. While I suppose it's possible to solo it here, the game was designed to encourage teamwork. Therefore, griefers, who can simply be ignored on other MMORPG's, can have a direct influence on a toon's progress here, at least temporarily.

Any other views?

It's not so much griefing you have to deal with in games like WoW....but immature people who think they're awesome cause they have like 10 level 70 characters.

I simply cannot solo much anything past level 15 in WoW. That's why i stopped playing. Haha.

There is stuff (err, from what i've seen my BF do) in WoW that does take some teamwork though. Like doing raids and stuff.

I've never heard of those other games you mentioned, so i wouldn't know what it's like. But alot of MMORPG's, especially those that involve different classes, do take SOME teamwork.

I am fellow RS player, but It bored me so I quit, to the fact.

I liked to Fletch, and I planned on getting 99 for the skillcape.

I would of never gotten to 83 fletching if it wasn't for the community.
If you bargain, you get somewhere.


But when you're low on money, you do bad things, which i've been reported for :s.

Trust me, it's a lot worse on other MMORPG games. I won't name some of them, but those with open chat make it difficult to communicate with others because of the constant auto-spamming of messages. People sometimes advertise their various products which sell some of the game's currency. Then there are the scammers if the game has open trade.

Feel how lucky we all are that Disney at least did some things to prevent some of the major pains with other online games.

To me griefing. I'll just put games from least to worst on griefing.
I'd put toontown first as you need teamwork. POTCO can be soloed and all other games you said. You can't solo toontown by yourself which means that the game needs at least 8 people. Ok weird if a few of them are off. Ok now lets put these in order.
Toontown,runescape,WOW,and POTCO.
I put POTCO last because it seems that you can solo all the boss battles. But with WOW and Runescape you have to level up a bit more before you can solo them. With POTCO you don't have to level up as much.
But as far as greifing toontown is the worst because you do need teamwork to win.(at least temporary to get all 137 laff)

I see this too. I play rs and you never see people yelling at people at bandos (b4 wildy was gone ppl yelled at eachother), but here everyone griefs a 30 laffer FOR JUST BEING by the bullion mint xD. But still, yes people get mad eachother in any MMOGROROR (whatever) but TT you see more of it.

For me, Toontow has the most cutest griefers ever. I mean someone yell at you "You Stink!" isn't that cute? that's the most rudest comment in Toontown compare to the real open chat that's more rude.

Also, some MMORPG you can attack other players which the griefers will kill every newbies to not let them level up, I think that's worse than toontown. Atleast, we can still ignore griefers and still finish toontask.

Exactly, and we even have an "ignore" feature(in testing) to better help ignoring griefers
