I think it's a great idea
The free access is a great idea...what better way is there to get more subscribers into tt than to allow potential customer to sample the product. Btw...they can't ...from what I have seen....enter bldgs if the leave ttc. So let them have access to the whole of tt...hopefully the will like playing enough to subscribe. I think it is a way to finally get those who have had free accounts for a while to finally become paying members...WTG Marketing Dept!!!

- No bosses HQ access - Can't not go into the gag shop outside TTC - Ony have TTC Tasks - Can't go into the building Outside TTC - Gag experience point is limited at 2000 points. - No Golfing , gardening , only practice races. - No cattalog purchasig So I think it's a lot that paid accounts can do more than free-accounts.Basically, the free-expanded idea is just to let new toons visit toontown to look around and see if they want to stay or not. It's definitely a good idea for Disney to promote Toontown. People want to see, feel, and try it out first before they decide to spend their money on something. About the Newbies running around ,I think it's ok because they can't go into the building outside TTC nor Bosses HQ so they can't really annoy anyone. The only way they can do is stinking people which just ignore them. There're a lot of stinky toons all over toontown anyway. |

The "free account" toons don't bother me at all. If they want to join me in a street battle, no problem! I can always use the help, even if it's just a little gag. Plus, they reduce the chance that the cog will hit me back!
Here's a clip from a recent news article about Steve Wadsworth, President of Walt Disney Internet Group: --------- For the company's organically launched Toontown, the initial business model was "sign-up for free and play for three days and if you don't give us your credit card, we kick you out." This failed. Only when it learned from Club Penguin, did it learn to let people play as much for free as they wanted, but then to charge them for certain specific things. ----------

It's true that there are probably a lot of kids who's parents will never pay for the game for them which could cause problems in other PGs. But the free members are very limited in what they can do. They cannot go in cog buildings or cog hq's.. like they can go in hq's but not into mints facs etc. So that won't cause problems for members. And it could potentially convince more people to buy the game b/c they get to see all the cool stuff but they can't touch it.
