I would say its totally annoying! The other day like 3 or 4 non members asked to be my friend, and so i said, "Sorry I Can't" When i click no, They Stink me! i was like >:OO So i think it's not really a good idea for free members going anywhere, Main Reason: griefers...

I think the worst part is that the free-access toons can't complete even one gag-track training. So we have tons of toons in ttc that are going sad because there are no little feathers available. And way too few ice cream cones in the playground!
On the flip side, if you have an apprentice task in ttc, just stock up on toonup gags, hang out on any street in ttc, and you will be done with your task very quickly. |

This is what happened to me 2 times yesterday in Donald's Dreamland.
I was working on 5 button Cog building. Both times I had notified my friends to come help me. As my friends got there and were trying to board the elevator, (baby toons) toons at 15 laff happened by and kept trying to get in our way and get on the 5 level BOSSBOT and 5 level SELLBOT elevators. They starting leaping on and off and all over the place. We did not want them with us in this battle. A few people said "I think this is too risky for you" and the little toons started stinking us. Finally on both attempts, me and my team got on. This is a real hassle. I don't like fighting with toons to do my tasks. I wish Disney would take back allowing free people to roam all over. I would not have made that decision. Maybe they should be able to travel, but they shouldn't beable to enter buildings. |

I don't have a problem with trialers. They can walk around and stuff, but they can't do things that would truely bother people, like go into Coin Mints/DA A/Front 3. They will most likely run around like a kid in a candy store and feast their eyes on the addictive virtual world. They're new. They're innocent.

I think it can be bad, but it depends. Having more free trialers running around might cause alot more lag, because of the large number of free trial toons out there.

I don't think I would have gotten my subscription to the game if I could have gone everywhere. Part of the intrigue was wondering what was beyond that tunnel I couldn't access. So, once I paid I had to keep playing to make since of the money I shelled out.

It has been no problem for me.To stop me from getting anyoned,I trun off my requsts.Other than that I like it ho it's appsoed to be right now.One of the reasons why that I became a member was to explore, but back then they didn't have those fetures.

Speaking from the perspective of a parent, I think this might help some parents decide whether to pay for a supscription or not. I remember when my daughter first wanted to play TT several years ago. We signed her up for a free account to see what the game looked like. Obviously she could only do so much. Having access to more ot TT might have made the decision to pay a bit easier (although in the end the inability of other players to speak 'openly' won the day).
As a player (yeah, dad plays too now) it doesn't really bother me. I can turn friend requests off and not have 'free' folks sending friend requests every two minutes. And if there's a toon who plays nice and seems to know what they are doing, if they ask 'Please be my friend', there is a good chance I'll saay yes, free account or not. And there are probably as many subscribed griefers as there are non-subscribed griefers. Patricia gave an example of that (although she didn't realize it at the time). From a business stand point, and based on the posted quote, it sounds like Disney has seen this work in other games and is trying to use the same model as in their other games. If it works elsewhere, it will probably work here. It may take time, and only if the parent is 'involved' with their child and what they are doing (asks questions, is concerned about 'child-friendly' atmosphere). |

I don't really mind as long as they go with the same cog as we do.
Just don't choose the cog with the highest hp because you will lose. If so, it's there fault. Quote:
But Disney should just cancel every single Toontown Account who has a Member Subscription and make it free and then turn Toontown into a free online community where people can go anywhere and do anything they want Last edited by Jezibabe; 05-25-2008 at 06:50 PM. Reason: double posted |
