Well, actually, while the expanded access allows you to go everywhere, you can't do everything. Most tasks you can't get past Donald's Docks unless you are on a free account on your high toon while would be in the middle. Your gags only go up to level 5 (for training).

They did this to show more of Toontown, but not enough of it so they don't go into bankruptcy and close the game due to the lack of paid memberships.

I hope this helps you see things correctly,

I remember when they had a 3 day trial with unlimited access. That was years ago when I was like... a lot younger xD

I remember that too. You could (I think) go anywhere and do anything. It was fun.

Why do they have to expand the free access? All it causes is more griefing and stinking in Toontown.

I hope they will change this soon.

Well, it's just another money thing. The last version for free Toontown didn't show much of Toontown, so not many toons would join, leaving Toontown in a downslop for money. When they do this version, it's suppost to be a bit better see that you can go past Toontown Central, but you can't do much else.

I don't like this version.. noob attacks in playgrounds that were recently QUIET and noob-free. When I joined, I did the old trial, the three-day one. But that's a little off topic. I don't think they should have done this.. it's almost (I said ALMOST) not worth paying if new toons can go anywhere. And don't tell me what they can and can't do because I know that. I just don't think it's fair to us paying members. Before they did this, we payed so we could have places to go to get AWAY from noobs, places just for us higher toons, now they're everywhere that we are! The only places we could still have noob-free areas is anywhere involving cogs!

Last I checked, any paying member could go into any playground no matter their laff points. I saw three sad 15-18 laffish toons in TB earlier. All 3 were paying members. I've taken small toons into buildings and factories. They are obviously paying members.

I knew this sort of thing would happen. It's sad.

Um.. I know that. I wasn't talking about paying members. We are talking about FREE members. And how could you know that those 3 were payers? Unless you took them into a building, there's no proof. (Besides their nametags.) They could have died in cog battles. And yes the small toons in buildings and facs are paying members but not ALL of them are.

Yeah, like Treehouse said, it's mostly for the money. They quite recently went down the hill in money in the past month due to a few of their games being shut down, or not enough members joining. As you can see now, they've opened it up a bit for now so people can experience a little bit more of Toontown thus getting their parents/them to subscribe.

It doesn't do much good since the higher toons start to stink these lower toons who have suddenly shown up, making them not want to subscribe. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Overall it's for money.

1. I saw them go into the gag shop. That's how I knew. (Free accounts can only go into the gag shop in TTC)

2. Yes, the small toons in buildings and factories are paying members since free accounts are not allowed to go into those places.

Doctor Oswald Superzapper, which games were shut down in the last month? The last TT that closed as far as I know happened nearly a year ago. Besides, attracting new customers doesn't always mean a company is losing money. All companies must maintain growth to stay profitable. I haven't played TT since the beginning, but from what I've read they've always changed things in an effort to grow their customer base.

Ugh

I've spent the past 2 days trying to save these 16 laff toons in battles with level 7+ cogs, I hear them calling for help while I am running to the HQs. I understand why they expanded the access, but maybe they should not allow them access to the buildings or HQs. I do not like to watch any toon go sad, I guess I will have to get used to it now though.

Yes. Like Disney is known for their safety towards children, they're also known for their financial problems in the past. Though Disney makes millions/billions of US dollars each year, not much of this money goes into their games. Most of it goes into products and movie(live action and animation). It's basicly a money gimmick (sp.? ).
