What he said. Ubers make you learn the game and play your best. You mention damage and doom. Playing as a team; knowing your gags and what kills removes the damage and doom. A big toon can go out and make a mistake after mistake on gag choices/ teamwork and still walk away. An Uber makes a mistake then chances are you are seeing green...if you make 2 mistakes in a row you are seeing green. ![]() Laff doesn't matter...and to some point Gags really don't matter...Teamwork is what matters and ubers are "forced" to work as a Team. Build / play an uber and you'll most likely learn a few things. |

I made one primarily because of Fritz, an uber I greatly admired in my early playing days and the first uber I ever saw attempting vps. That would be littlespike who posted above.
Playing one myself, I have enjoyed the attention ubers draw and the challenge. Even the negative attention is interesting. I would like to eventually max her suit. She is a 21 laff Hollywood. I am currently taking a very long break from the game, as I have become addicted to a new hobby, blogging, which is eating up my computer time. I don't think you would regret making one. It is a unique and rewarding experience. You would be in good company. Many of the finest players have at least one. |

oooh, I remember Fritz. He made friends with my old toon a long time ago after we did a building together. It was in DG and I needed some help with a building. At first when I checked, he was reaaallly low laff and I was afraid to ask him for help. But then I looked at his gags and I figured he must be a great player. He was the first uber I'd seen (didn't even know there was a word for it) and the only one who has been one of my friends. Hi Fritz - you rock!

Low laff toons are fun to play. Every cog battle is a challenge, every missed gag a shudder of terror. You focus more on clever use of speedchat phrases than trying to crank a Trap gag from 5th level to 6th.
It's fun, but I'd recommend playing the conventional way first, building up a toon and learning new gag tracks along with the joys of the Lil Oldman tasks in The Brrrrgh. That's a lot of fun as well, but once you crank up over a hundred laff, the dynamic of the game really changes (at least it did for me.) After that, you'll know how to play the game. That's when low laffers become fun. |
