It took me a while to read everything that has been talked about in here and I, honestly, don't understand what the problem is.
We are NOT required to help anyone, but we CAN if we want. I don't mind playing with kids, I have a few on my list and they will stay there, they make me laugh and I love playing with them. I will attend any event where K.O.A.T.T.A. needs help with, provided I'm on the computer and playing.
I also know that I can ask any of my friends and have a personal run if we feel like it, out of any schedule...
I like this game and I like this group of people, that's all...Love ya, peoples!

To all members: please continue to be patient through this phase. We have had SO much fun together. I have never enjoyed playing Toontown so much. I desperately want this group to succeed and continue to have a blast with them.

Hopefully, KOATTA will have their own schedule before next weekend. We can send our kids and our support to those activities. We will continue to host joint activities.

Patience and humor will help us thrive.

For all ATTA members.

You are not required to lend a hand to KOATTA if you dont not want to, no one ever said you were obligated. I am doing this out of the goodness of my heart. Some of us here really do care about these kids and I am sorry if this upsets anyone. I have known these kids for quite sometime and we all know that in RL (real life) we wouldnt turn our backs on our friends when they need us most. Why would we do it here? To me it isnt any different. I hangout with everyone here more than I do my actual RL friends.. thats scary stuff. hehe

I love you all so much, I dont want anyone to leave ATTA because of this. Playing with all of you has shown me a whole different and fun way to play TT, especially now with the Truth or Dare thread!!

Soo..

This is what I have come up with in regards to KOATTA.

I dont want to have a long transistion. I feel that if we take a long time helping them out it can hurt us here, due to some not agreeing about helping them out. So, I feel that we should set a tranisition period of maybe 2-3 weeks? Let them know that this is how long we are gonna help them out, after that they need to start doing things on their own, BUT if they need help I dont want them to feel that they cant come and ask us for help either. I will let them know that we will lend them a hand ONLY if they really need our help if not they need to figure things out amongst themselves.

What do you all think?

Claudia, you know I will help out anytime with the kiddies seeing as I am an adoptive mum of Little Romeo and the real mum of Lady Droopy Blubbertoon.

but.... the 2-3 week transition period is fine with me.

This is why I've suggested "joint" runs just once or twice a month.

And in the meantime to help get KOATTA rolling and get interest going a couple of ATTA members could attend KOATTA events. (Not the other way around, having them at our events.)

This has been brought up in three posts now, and I really had the feeling that we'd all come to a sort of agreement like that so I was surprised to see this all again.

I'm a mommy. One of my boys is a KOATTA member and the other is a sort of "honourary member" since he doesn't have a TTC account yet. I don't want them at ATTA events. I joined ATTA because I play with kids all day and night and I wanted adult friends. I also don't want to do everything for the kids. They have to mess it up themselves and fix it to learn how to make it work again.

If we help them out in that way (a few joint events and having a few of us show up at their events) it would not intrude on the ATTA very much and it would acknowledge that be it ever so small there is a tie between the groups.

I saw in their group that Dylan posted he's trying to work out a schedule for them. We'll see what they come up with, because if they can get things going themselves that would be great.

I really feel this has all gotten too complicated.
At this point what I would suggest is that we have a joint ATTA/KOATTA event for special times only (holiday runs and a summer celebration maybe) and that we get permission from the kids for ATTA toons to attend some of their events to help fill out elevators until they are able to do so themselves.

The "helping" part wouldn't involve the entire ATTA. Just like at the BB run we attend, my own toon and another ATTA member went. It gave us enough to fill an elevator and dind't inconvenience the rest of the guild at all.

The only ties between the groups would be the name and a joint run 4-6 times a year.

But now keep in mind that maybe THEY don't want us at their events. They can't see this conversation, so they can't input their own ideas. Maybe it's time to ask them if they'd like some help and how we can best provide that? (It dawns on me that they may not even want it!)

If I've come across as not caring about the kids in the KOATTA, that was NOT my intention. I have a ton of kid and teen sf's and as a mom myself I do care about them. In fact you will see me at events where the ATTA is helping them out.

I don't want to be misunderstood here. I don't think anyone is against the KOATTA or not willing to help them out. I think we all care.

I see your point. I like your idea. That way they also wont feel like a shadow of ATTA and it will be us attending their events (for the tranisition period) and not the other way around. I feel this is the best way to get things going for them and it will also accomodate all ATTA members as well.

I sent Dylan a PM I am just waiting for his replly.

My daughter was at the CFO run at 9PM PST with me. She was the only KOATTA there, and we had 4 ATTA members. My daughter asked me if the other adults knew she is a kid. She was somewhat apprehensive to be in the midst of adults for fear that they would not want to battle with her. She did not think that she will be accepted amongst the adult, but she was. Even though she got sad in the cog battle, she had a great time. This was her first time to, knowingly, play with adults aside from me. This CFO battle ended up being a 3-women run in the craning and stomping. My daughter thought we, the adults who continued with the battle, were crazy for taking this on.

She has no plans in attending all of combo runs this weekend, but she thinks that the 3-women CFO attempt, was hilarious and insane, and it was worth seeing on my computer.

What I am trying to say is, it meant a lot to her, that Scooter Wondertoon, Duke Wally Crunchytoon and Simba, were there to play with her, even though, she is a kid.

The KOATTA are not going to be with us all the time, they are making plans of their own as we speak. For the meantime, let us give them our support.

I think future KOATTA events, with invitation to the ATTA, which has been suggested before, is an excellent idea.

Have a wonderful day.

Thats what I feel, they deserve the help so that they may learn how to appropriately handle these situations. This is just like anything else in life, if someone is not there to show you how to do it right, will you ever learn it the right way? Possible, but why show them the right way from the beginning? I personally want to help them because I feel they need it and because that is just who I am. No one is obligated to help out, just the ones that want to.

I agree (for the second time, LOL), even once a month or every few months is good enough. Them being at our events is not something that has to be always from now on, its only this weekend for now to get them working together. I too think the next time they have a big event that we should go over there and lend them a hand to gain more attention to their group.

Thats the exact feeling I was trying to keep from happening. I dont want ATTA tagged with a bad name. I want everyone to feel that its ok that they are there, but with the understanding that the group is made for adults.

----------------------------------------------------------

In all, we are not going to merge, we are not going to have them at all of our event, we dont even need to help them with theirs (only those that want to). We are still ATTA, by adults for adults. Next weeks ATTA events will be back to normal.

Awww, if she wants to go again I'm willing to go. Any "kid" is excepted in my book and I'll let myself go sad before them.

Also, I was thinking of a helpful event that we could throw to not only help ATTA members but also KOATTA members. How about once a month we launch a "Defeat LOM event to get toons past LOM. Launcing Hollywood, Robber Baron, Big Cheese, and Big Wig invasions so they can recover those items.

NICE one. I really like this idea. We can do something like this monthly that way most of the members of both clans (the ones that can make it) can be there. That sounds like fun. I can totally look forward to something like that monthly!

Good way to get our young toons tasks done also.

What does everyone think of this idea?

I love it!! I was just thinking that one of the reasons my kids stopped playing TT was they got stuck at points in the game and went to do something more fun. In fact, I took a break during LOM because it was so evil!

Lets do it!!

As a very new member of the ATTA I'm not even sure I should have a voice in this, but I agree with the above. I play with my 13 year old daughter all the time and another teen and love them both dearly. But, that being said I have never had so much fun on TT until I found the ATTA. I have so enjoyed reading all the posts and going on the boss runs today.

I do think both the ATTA and the KOATTA should be separate but I am always willing to help the kids out! Due, to my participating in the CFO runs today my daughter has decided to join the KOATTA! All of you who started this adult group and to the kids group: I bow to you!

You don't come across as non-caring at all, Carmen, I have seen you help anyone who needed it. Actually, it's nice to have different opinions and create a discussion. If we all always agree on everything, there would be nothing to talk about. Love ya', girl!

We could the the "Defeat LOM event" as a recruitment drive for KOATTA to help them build ranks.

I'm fine with using my invasions as long as I can get some help CJing or at least getting back into river.

Hi guys,

Had a real fun time doing the CFO joint ATTA / KOATTA runs last night and tonight

Could it please be clarified if the Yahoo conferences are just for adults tho? I thought we had a member of KOATTA in our conferenece this evening, so I felt that I had to be a bit more careful about what I said.....

It was my understanding that the conferences were for ATTA only, but not sure if I have this right, and I think I may not be the only one who is unsure, so could someone please clarify! Hope this doesn't upset / offend anyone.

Many thanks
