What's New with Disney's Toontown Online
April 29, 2003 [sv1.0.5.12]
  • The Catching Game is now released. Have fun!
  • We have gotten a few complaints about Toons griefing other players by hopping off Cog elevators at the last second, thus stranding poor Toons left to fight the building alone. Now when a Toon jumps off a Cog elevator, the timer will be reset. It will only be reset the first time this happens on each elevator.
  • Smoother Toon-on-wall corner collisions.
  • Fixed Shticker Book Map Page location description while in Toon-torial.
  • Fixed intermittent crash when trying to purchase from Shticker Book.
  • Added volume attenuation on many sounds in Toontown. Now if a door is opened far away, the sound will be softer.
  • Adjusted music and sound effect volume mix. Music volume overall is now slightly lower.
  • New low-level 3D window handling code.
  • New window management interface in Shticker Book.
  • New popup help to get on trolley and complete first ToonTask at Toon HQ after Toontorial for a smoother transition into the game for new players.
  • Sleeping Toons get logged off after 10 minutes.
  • Improved LaffMeter handling on Toon Detail Panel.
  • Smaller friend request windows.
  • New option in Shticker Book to ignore friend requests.
  • Fixed several server crashes.

No biggie, just looks like they have rolled over to 1.5.9, back to the real "Test" enviroment. They must figure 1.5.10 is ready for Open.

???

I like the possible option of ignoring certain toons, but I *don't* like the thing that would make a sleeping toon log off after 10 minutes-- I often alt-tab out of my toontown window to do other things around the house, and leave my toon sleeping in the playground ... it takes forever for me to log in to start with! we always leave toontown up as long as it's not haivng a memory leak problem (which it does about once every other day) ...

that's one thing i hope they DON'T bring to LE!

still waiting to be invited to test...

That will go to test w/o a doubt.

All those sleeping toons just contribute to game lag which isn't fun for the rest that are playing.

I'm on a dial-up and don't have a problem logging into toontown, nor have I noticed any significant lag (only when going thru tunnels), and I've never had a memory leak.

I guess I"m lucky.

That or I just don't play enough anymore...

but I am 91 laff and have never experienced lag or memory leak...and had the clock-0 bug only once (yesterday).

Ever go to ttc on the top server?

And of course I meant, it would go to LE. LE is where it is needed.

Catch Game

I think they made catch a single player game now. I was getting some beans earlier today and got catch twice by myself. If that was changed THANKS! I was unable to play it with others, it would never come up for me.

Came up twice on test yesterday with me and two friends, so it's still a one or all game. What they do need to change is to make it pay one jellybean per catch (similar to rings and tag). Right now it's too much work for the payout, IMHO.
