You enjoyed my Toontown Marketplace idea and petitioned for me to send it in to Toontown, but now for my new idea... THE FISHING & TACKLE SHOP! ![]() ![]() THE FISHING & TACKLE SHOP ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a shop shaped like a large boot which can be found in Donald's Dock, between the Clothing Shop and Seaweed Street. When you enter, there will be three clerks behind a counter, a horse, a cat and a dog. The horse is called "Professor C. Horse", the cat, "Kat Fishé" and the dog, "Scurvy C. Dawg". Behind them is a tank with one of each fish species in it. Around them are the latest tackle-gear, rods, fish and trophies on the wall. WHAT CAN I BUY IN THERE? You can buy:
Let's start with Rods... Rods Currently, you are allowed to buy five rods. Here, you can buy six. You still have to buy each in order, so you can't skip rods and you have to wait a week between each, but it is worth it to get that 6th rod. The Platinum Rod allows you to customise the colour of bean you want to cast and is specially designed to catch less boots and more expensive, rare fish and bean-jar rewards. Oh, did I mention there is a fish limit on each rod as following? I have included the new prices beside too.
[] [] [] [] [] [] Click on one and it brings up more information about it, the price, how much it costs to cast, the weight it can catch, etc... Oh, and a little 'Buy' button of course. And this brings me nicely to... SPECIAL BEANS Ever seen that quote, "Devil Ray's like spicy red beans!" or something along those lines? I have, and it annoys me - I want to do something about it! So here is the solution... Run up to any one of the clerks and click on 'Special Beans'. A list will come up of all the bean colours and the fish that they are more likely to make you catch - in fact, they make you two times more likely to catch the fish you are looking for than normal. At a 1000 bean deposit (you'll make it back fishing), the clerk will replace all your beans with only that colour, and make sure you get only that colour until the day (24 hours later) is over or until you press the 'STOP' button (see Shticker Book Page section). Below are the bean colors and the fish that they represent and help to catch: Red - Devil Ray, Balloon Fish Green - Clown Fish, Holey Mackerel Orange - Peanut Butter & Jelly Fish, Cat Fish Purple - Sea Horse, Cutthroat Trout Dark Blue - Bear Acuda, Dog Fish Pink - Piano Tuna, Amore Eel Yellow - Star Fish, Old King Crab Light Blue - Frozen Fish, Pool Shark Silver - Nurse Shark, Moon Fish (Tell me if I have missed one or put one twice!) I see this as very useful, doubling the chances of catching the corresponding fish species. It would really help me, that's for sure! Remember, you would still have to be in the correct area for each fish... FISHING CLOTHES & ATTIRE Nothing particularly special here, just a selection of fishing-related clothes at a modest price... Well actually, they are going to be a bit of a rip-off. Three new, original short/shirt and top combos so that contest winners stay unique. Also available are hats, fishing style of course. ![]() Nothing to the costumes really, just for good luck! BOATS Now you may be curious about this... I thought that to make the estate, especially the pond, more interesting, a boat would be fun. There would be four available, set out like this upon talking to the clerk, who would offer a little bit of information about them before hand, before going to the following menu: [] [] [] [] Click on the panels to see price and special features, plus that "Buy" button! Available below are the boats with their price and special features: * = In Estate ONLY. Carries = Piers Rowing Boat - Allows 40/70 random species to be found in the estate. Bucket size increases to 25*. Carries 2 toons (a friend + you). 500 JB's Speed Boat (with yacht sail) - Allows 50/70 random species to be found in the estate. Bucket size increases to 30*. Carries 3 toons (2 friends + you). 1000 JB's Deep-Sea Fishing Boat - Allows 60/70 random species to be found in the estate. Bucket size increases to 35*. Carries 4 toons (3 friends + you). 4000 JB's Toontanic - Allows all 70 fish to be caught in the Estate. Bucket size increases to 50*. Carries 8 toons (7 friends + you). 8000 JB's. Each boat will have an on-board fisherman, "Fisherman Finlay", who collects the catches. You join the boat by running to a small pier around the back of the pond (near the fence) and pressing 'Go Fishing!'. To leave and sell fish to Finlay, who is conveniently beside the pier, press 'Leave Boat!', a button in the bottom left corner. When clicking 'Go Fishing!', the toon throws a Jellybean into the water which pops into a boat on contact. The boat stays there until the estate has been left. Sorry, but yet again, you have to buy each one before you can buy the next. Better save up those beans! This makes the estate far more diverse, although some may argue that 70 fish makes fishing there harder - it does. That is the problem with it. Want the Holey Mackerel but have the Cruise Ship? Buy a green jellybean, simple! And finally... THE FISHING HANDBOOK & SHTICKER BOOK PAGE SECTION In the fishing section of the shticker book, a new 'Fishing Options' page could now be found. In there, there would be options for:
CONCLUSION ... And as a present when you finally max, give the fishing shop a visit for an Aquarium that goes in your home, just to show off to your friends! Inside will be all the species you have captured for free as the Fishing Shop's 'Thank You' gift for keeping their trade going. I really hope you like my idea, it sure took me a while to make. Point out any mistakes and feel free to share your opinions. - 13luckoftheirish13 (Conor)

I chose the prices so that big toons with lots of beans would have to work to get the rods and boats just like little toons. In this way, it is fairer that a big toon is not able to buy them all at once, rather save up beans by fishing, thus increasing the profit of the fishermen and the popularity of fishing in Toontown. I hope you get what I'm saying, I'm not sure I do! I personally think the pond is a fine size, considering the boat will be stationary, it won't need to move down the stream. The boats won't be too big, but big enough for a couple of toons.
