Hi there toons!
I saw in the test forum that Toontown are THINKING about making bean banks limitless. I like this idea and think that that Toontown should add a marketplace to go with it. How do you get in? Basically, you enter via one of the toons at the party gates (who needs two per place, really?). They could be called like, 'Market Martha', 'Market Marvin', etc. You must have at least 1000 jellybeans in your bank to go into the grounds. There is only the one market for all districts and playgrounds. When you are done, you will pop up in the district and playground you entered from. Where is it? Once you get there, you will be in a Party Grounds area, only there will be stalls with a toon behind it. This toon is a seller and you may sell items you no longer need at a price. You can choose to become a seller or buyer at the beginning when you talk to the toon who transports you there. A seller is required to pay a 200 jellybean deposit to start selling, which he will recieve back when he gets out. There are different sections to the market, one for clothes, one for fish, one for furniture and one for miscellaneous. There is also a doodle shop (selling doodles and accessories), a gag shop, and Clarabelle & Co. Clarabelle had a large shop with lots of different items ready to view, and take home. You can view them before you buy, but once they are bought, they are replaced with something else! You get them immediately but they are more expensive than her cattleog. There is also a food court in the middle of the market, selling toon ups. For more information on these, view the bottom paragraph or work your way down. How to Sell The Seller chooses the items they want to sell and select whether they want a swap, or a buy. A buy, and the item will just be bought for jellybeans, a swap and the item will be swapped for something. These items must be of the same type, e.g., all clothes, all fish. EXAMPLE THINGS YOU CAN SWAP: Furniture, Tickets, Kart Accessories, Clothes, Doodle Accessories (see bottom note), Emotes, Fish, Phrases, Cog Rewards (SOS Toons, Unites, Summons, Pink Slips) etc. THINGS YOU CAN'T SWAP: Toons, Accounts, Doodles, Laff points, toontasks, etc. RULES
If a buyer is interested in a stall, he will run up to it and view the stall via a panel listing the sellers items. If he would like to make an offer, he will press the 'Make an offer' button, they choose the item they are willing to swap the buyers item for, press a button then send a request. If Jellybeans are wanted by the buyer, all the toon has to do is to click 'Buy Item for X Jellybeans!'? and he has the sellers item and the beans withdrawn from his bank and transferred into the sellers. The seller may accept or reject the offer. Beside that 'Sellers option' will be the toon name so you know who you are dealing too. How to put a Product up The toon selling will type a set number of words paragraph selling his product using a special 'Marketplace Set Paragraph' and then can start selling. In this paragraph, he can include the price in JB's, (sensible, a maximum item limit is set by Toontown on each item), or what he would be willing to swap for. The Auction will last for a set amount of time, thirty seconds to five minutes and the toons can auction more than one thing at once. SET PARAGRAPH Example of a Swap Paragraph (_____ = down menu) Hi there buyers, today I am selling _________1 and I would like a direct swap please. I would like to swap my item for a(n) ________2 [OPTIONAL]or a(n) __________2[OPTIONAL]. Thank you! 1 = Dropdown menu with the list of items you will be selling. 2 = item you want to swap for. (See list of swappables up top of post) Example of a Buy Paragraph (_____ = down menu) Hi there buyers, today I am selling _________1 and I would like some Jellybeans for it. I would like to sell my item for ________2 Jellybeans. Thank you! 1= Dropdown menu with the list of items you will be selling 2 = dropdown number of jellybeans. If you try and make it a rip-off, no one will buy, so a good price is nice. What do you do next? The seller presses an 'Accept or Reject' button and then gets a message to confirm. If he says yes, the items will swap over. If a fish is swapped, it goes straight into your bucket. Tickets to your kart bit, jellybeans to your bank, etc. A messages pops up then you are free to run around more stalls. How do you find these great Offers? Above the stalls will be the toons name, and the items they are selling/swapping. There is also a giant board in the middle of the market that shows all the newest auctions, items and toon name. Is that it? No, there will also be a 'Food Court' where you can buy gags and buy a quick toon up (+1 laff = 2 Jellybeans), Doodle Emporium, Clarabelle & Co. shop and a super big gag shop. The DOODLE & GARDEN EMPORIUM is where you can buy top-of-the-range doodles, pay for doodle training, buy tricks (more expensive than in your cattleog), buy clothes, hats, collars, accessories, kennels for your doodle etc.! There is also a gardening section where you can buy a sprinkler system for your trees and hire a gardener to plant a set amount of a certain lower combinations for a week, at a certain amount of Jellybeans. You can also view and buy statues, new decorations for your estate, new types of trees and new house colours or even a new house type, e.g., Cupcake, TeePee, Ranch House, Mansion, etc. Included in the new trees section for your estate will be Pine, Palm trees, autumn leaves trees, snowy trees, christmas trees and halloween trees (spiders in them!). Also purchasable for the eighth and unused spot in the gag-tree part are jellybean trees, contradicting the saying "Jellybeans don't grow on trees!". Now they do! You have to buy the right to use this feature with jellybeans, and what you do is you plant a certain amount, not exceeding 1000 beans. By the end of the month, that 1000 beans will have tripled, giving you 3000 beans able to pick off the tree. These will blossom every month, provided they are always happy, maybe perhaps kept happy by the sprinkler system. You can replant with a different amount of beans any time needed. The gag shop beside this CLARABELLE & CO. will have not two, but five clerks eager to help. This is the only shop in Toontown where you can buy a level seven gag back after using it for 5000 beans each. The limit to one level 7 gag per toon at any time still applies. What about that awful Lag? There is no talking, no emotes and no whispering in the market. The stalls are not animated and to get into a stall, you must walk through the door to that stall. This means the lag will be kept low, the only words allowed, 'Thanks' and 'Sorry' from the MARKET Speedchat panel. Since there is a bean limit, not all toons could get in and to be honest, the market wouldn't always be busy? This means the lag would be relatively low. Also, there will be a big list beside the board in the middle, including the top 5 sellers, the top most expensive items bought, and the top five buyers. Market Shticker Book Page This special page allows you to add items to your sell and swap list, view previous sales, buys and swaps and shows a map of the grounds. It also enables you to put a password lock on the market, meaning if anyone was to access your account without authorisation, even a sibling, they could not sell all of your items. ADDED NOTES Talking (Speedchat and Speedchat Plus) will be disabled in the marketplace, except whispers to only people you are friends with - otherwise we may have lag problems and people being mean to one another! No emotes either, however, there will be a special marketplace Speedchat list including a few phrases like 'Come to my stall!' and 'Thanks'! Once an item is bought, it cannot be refunded. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tell me if you like it! I will email it to Toontown if you do. ![]() - Conor

Nice idea, I could somewhat see that, but some things just wouldn't work out for me.
1) The Ultra Rares. The ultra rares are supposed to challange (sp?) you, if you were to just trade them, it would be too easy, like otto66 said. That would be an easy maxxing fishing thus ruining the joy and excitement of catching the fish themselves. 2) Rip-offs Some toons may be dishonast about prices such as emotes. A desperate toon may spend a whopping 2000 jellybeans for a 600 jellybean emote. As you said, this can not be refunded and one toon is happy, scamming a poor toon out of their jellybeans and another toon is angry after learning that they have had their jellybeans stolen. 3) The Cattle-Log The "Market Place" is somewhat like the cattle-log. It has merchandice, (sp?) it can not be refunded, and it has just about all that the market place has to offer. You can gift and "swap" with your friends, gifting to them and they gift another item back. It's a great idea but some things would be an obsticle. Maybe a limit on how much you can sell something for. I don't think doodles should be sold/traded either. The doodle is yours and you paid for it, 200-4998 jellybean worth. You grew up with it and you have a special bond to it. Some things just should not be traded. |

I agree, the idea is clever and amazing but I don't see some features of the Marketplace happening.
1) Ultra Rare/Any Species of Fish This would take the fun and challenge out of getting fish. Also, if it's YOUR fish and you spent YOUR precious time looking for it, why not keep it? Not a lot of people would be willing to trade an ultra, as they are hard to find. This would probably cause a "stink bomb" or a "Flaming Feud". The point is, trading fish would not be the most wisest thing to do. 2) Jellybeans & Rip-Offs What if a toon charges more than an item is worth? As a previous poster has said, it would be a problem if a toon becomes ripped-off. Because there are no refunds, the poor toon would have to earn all his beans back. Therefore, I think that the price of the item you are selling, must be the original price or less. It would be a little more fair for toons looking for "rare" items such as emotes or furniture. 3) Trading By Accident (Hacking & Accidental Issues) Some people may accidentally trade precious items to another toon. This can be encountered when an account has been hacked, or a toon was not paying attention. It would not be wise of that toon in the first place, but as you stated, there would be no refunds. Therefore, the toon cannot get his item back. And if the toon was hacked, that just makes the situation worse. And the one suggestion I have, is that there is a "Return Policy". Perhaps there should be a limit on how long you have until you cannot return the item. Perhaps a week, 24/48/72 Hours? This would be a little more fair and some of the issues above may be resolved. Otherwise, the item is terrific and I think Toontown may approve. I just hope that Disney gives you credit!
