Things that get groups killed (mild vent)
I've noticed a number of tactics that have often led to my groups getting killed in buildings/factories. These seem to be a real problem for groups who are just high enough for the building. (Not a problem with two or more toons who are much stronger than the building.)
Boy, I wish these things happened less often in my groups: A) two or more people using toon-up when battling three or four cogs Why? If the other toons can't take out at least one cog, then the newly-tooned people will get re-damaged, and you'll just have to repeat over and over until you finally kill one or more cogs. B) Using a low-level lure when facing three or four very high level cogs (for example, a second-level lure when fighting the factory foreman, level 9). Why? Unless you're a super-noob, the lure is more likely than not to fail. With one fewer toon squirting/throwing/etc., we're less likely to kill a cog by the end of the round, and we'll have one more cog damaging us afterward. C) Using low-level sound over and over against a group of high-level cogs: this is a problem when it will take three or more rounds to take out at least one cog. Why? Well, for every round you don't take out a cog from a group, you get more damaged than you need to be. Then you end up with multiple people doing toon-ups (see A) and it takes forever, and lots of damage, to kill the group. D) When facing a group of high-level cogs, focusing on a cog the group can't kill in two rounds or less. Why? In my opinion, it is better to reduce the size of the group as quickly as possible, at least when each one is high enough to do significant damage. Look at the situation where it takes three or four rounds to take out the highest cog, but only one round to take out each of the lower level cogs: in each round you're working on the highest cog, you're getting damaged by all three/four cogs. But if you take out one cog each round, you are reducing the damage to the group each time. So, just to repeat myself above: these aren't a problem when the group is higher than the building, or have lots of 5/6 level gags. But they often have hurt me when I have a group that is just big enough for that particular building. And, boy do I HATE it when the cogs make me sad

another thing is when you know that some1 will kill that cog then attack the other cog
like if there are 2 cogs and 1 is a red level 12 cog and 1 person throws a birthday cake and the other does rain cloud, then attack the other cog, the first one (red one) will die |

I've seen a lot of this in the mints I've been doing. Here's my thoughts:
Using sound without fog horn: I've seen groups do it repeatedly during a round, so I know it's intentional. I always join in because I'm working sound. I don't have to, but I choose to. My guess is they're all working sound too, and don't mind dragging the game on. In mint most tunes have a ton of toon up so that's no problem. Using multiple toon ups: Oh, this drives me crazy! I pick juggling balls, then some toon picks the cane, and we have a bunch of strong gogs good and alive. There are more possibilites though than being bad players: One is that their computer lags and they didn't see my choice. The other is that lots of times we're all trying to come up with the best gag match, making changes, etc., only at the last second to have picked the wrong choices and the game starts. I'm guilty of not killing off a tune when I could have. Yikes, I want to kick myself. I need to work at knowing the damage better, but I'm too lazy and want to just play play play. My own vent: Glitchers that move on and don't wait a reasonable amount of time. |

Not having made it through the VP, let alone the mint, I'd like to know before I go. |
