Why do some people do this, bring in a low level toon where it doesn't belong?

m.b. that's why...
Sometimes there are little kids playing, as young as 5 or 6 or 7 (as this is a game for all ages). Most of them haven't got a clue obviously, but they are really trying, and they go and explore a lot. So, be patient, it could be your little brother or sister playing...
It's only a game after all, and it's mostly a game of chance; don't get upset, you'll win next time... yours colonel |

My four-year-old didn't go until I kicked up his laff into the 40's. I have also taught him that if he goes into a cog house or the factory, he is to stick it out no matter what. That said... I have been willing to take low laffers into the factory. Call me crazy, but it think that it adds a bit more challenge to a task that has become easy. Usually, I find that these low laffers (being the children that they usually are) wander aimlessly and then go sad by walking into the sentry cogs light beam. When I can get them to the end I count it as a victory for me.

Has anyone ever done this?
And is so...Why? I have taken my new toon all over to "open up" the map, but I have never put her in a fight that is WWWAAAYYY over her head.[/quote] Well, like you, I take my new toon around to get the map opened up so if my sfs from my higher toon ask my to teleport, then I can go there in stead of holding them back. And I dont know if this would classify as "doing this", but I took my 55 laffer rl friend and sf in a mint with my 106 sf(im 107) into a coin. He actually came with us al the way to the second to final battle because I had coached him so much on s trategy whenn we went he made it to the second to last. Me and the 106 finished and celebrated his almost victory. |

I had a factory run the other day with a low laffer, an 18 laff pink monkey with a blue dress. Two others came in with us, one being 44 laff, and the other 27 laff. The 44 laff ditched at the start. The 27 laff got lost before the first battle, then ditched. So it was just me (107) and the monkey. The end result? This was one of the best factory runs I've had.
![]() She listened and cooperated with me on every battle. She passed when I lured, and worked with me to combine our gag power to take down the cogs. When she ran out of gags, I used one of my TOW phrases to fill her up. She got hit maybe twice, and on the silos, not once. She finished with a full laff meter. Not once did she stay back from a battle. Getting her through the factory was a challenge, but it gave me a good feeling at the end. And, I got my merits.

The other day my friend wanted to vp i needed 100 merits so i went to the fac their were 3 toons i checked laff a 44 55 and a 25 i was like ok i will give it a try when we got in the 55 ran off then after the first fight which went ok the 44 left i was with the 19 laffer then next fight i lured it pulled out a bike horn by then i new i was in for a hard time she we managed to get to the centre silo she was shouting the odds for toonup i had a choice A)Toonup her and leave the cogs unlured B)Lure and not tune her This is what i did Highlight to read)I used lure and she got out her bike horn she then died and told me that i stunk and i managed to win with 5 laff and i missed the vp due to the factory taking 20 minutes If you didnt agree with what i did good for you the same thing would have happened even if i had healed her |

In your situation, I would have done what you did, attempt a lure then toon up after. The reason being exactly what you said, that to not lure and then toon her up would have most likely resulted in her going sad anyway. In my case, she listened when I said 'You should pass' and she didn't get hit. Yours didn't and that fault lies entirely on her. You did what you thought was the best course of action. |

There maybe another side to it Captain Comet Thunderboom, you might have had a low Toon and an experenced player.
I have a new Toon I'm running along with my older toon. I still wouldn't take her into the Factory. What I was venting about is the total newbies who go in for the heck of it. I saw one who kept getting ditched for going in the elevator. I was on the team that had him and we did the samething as Rm3k3guy, if the low laffer went sad, so be it. We were out to win. We just couldn't keep healing someone who didn't listen, it was taken us forever just to get through the Warehouse alone, Don't ask about the silos. I don't like to ditch people and will only do it at the very start of The Factory if the other Toons have left too. Anyway, the low laff Duck that stuck to me, did come out with us. I just hope the player came out of the game a little bit wiser for it. |

I never said that they didn't belong there. The truth is that staying in TTC is the best for them. All I am saying is, that if you end up caught in a factory with one, it might not be the end. As for her being an experienced player, possibly, but when I used that TOW phrase, it confused the daylights out of her. She said 'Huh?' and opened her book to see what I was talking about.
Getting back to the topic at hand, why do people do this? I think curiousity is the largest factor, something that's been stated on here in numerous threads. New to the game, they want to see what's behind those clouds on the screen. Is it right? No, they shouldn't go to places they are not ready for yet. If they do, though, sometimes you get lucky like I did. It is, after all, a game. If I go sad because of it, I go sad. I will say this, had she attempted this in a Mint, nothing I could have done would have saved her. |

Very very true
I will not even go there and I have the experance. I'm trying to get her laff points up, but I have a friend who keeps trying to get me in there and she is running one playground behind me. My six year old keeps pestering me to take on the VIP. I tried once, got ditched went sad, learned lesson. I need more laff points to even have a hope of a chance. I don't want to be the weak one on the team that goes sad first. I want to contribute to the fight even if I don't last to the end. Some are little kids who try just for the fun of it (or don't know better) and some are just people who think it's funny to drive you nuts. You know like the ones who run around the fishing pond when you are trying to fish. But that's another vent. |

My advice just be careful when you get into the elevator and check everybodies status before you do. Sometimes me and my friends would take a junior with us if we are confident enough to a factory or a difficult building to give them a bit of a taste of a real battle and it's fine... There are some junior Toons that pester you and tell you that you stink, if you don't take them or advise that is too risky for them. In this case, yes, I agree with you, it's not very nice! I think my son is just afarid of it (The Factory) and he likes the Speedway more. Boys and cars
He does like it when I help him on the harder tasks, but for the most part he is cheering when I take out the factory......again. Tough to type while feeding a 3 month old. Future Toontown player

The real vent I had is about the people who do it on purpose.
It can be a way to boost your gags, but not a good way. We went in once with what had to be a little kid, he/she messed up every set-up we did and in every room went after the cogs before the rest of us was there with her/him. We had taken out several buildings that day and had worked out several "set-ups" with Lure, Trap, Throw combows. We didn't ditch the kid, we did try to help, and in the end he/she finally caugh on. We all came out alive. The duck that I "toonsat" did try really hard and will be a great player someday,......after somemore laff points. A lot of time you can tell if the toon is a young child by the way they play, and I don't mind helping them at all. It's the jurks I don't like.
