Wink Being Annoyed By Noobs?

This is a little guide for when you are being annoyed by a noob (or, in some cases, newbie)... but let's clarify somethings first:

----------------------

The Difference Between Noobs and Newbies:

Noob - a low laffed toon (from the range of 15-50) that may be experienced, but annoys others. An example of the annoyances is spamming with stinky phrases, consequtive friend requests (whether it is rejected or not), using high laffers in battles, etc..

Newbie - a toon who has just started the game. Let's say Willy Wabbit just joined Toontown yesterday. He is a newb.

The range of you leaving the newb status is probably at 55 laff. Noobs can leave the status when they stop annoying other toons by the examples above.

----------------------

Now you have learned somethings, let's start it out. Please, refrain from posting mean comments here. This goes for everyone, low AND high laffed toons. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. This is just a warning.

----------------------

This noob won't leave me alone until I become his/her friend! What do I do?

In most cases, some high laffers do not want to be a friend with a noob because they want to save room for more "experienced" players that can help them with their toontasks and such. There are many times when noobs come up to you and ask your friends, and start a "tantrum" if you say no. What kind of tantrum? They will keep asking you, as you keep declining. They will begin to yell stinky phraes, like "You stink!", are you.

I find this as disturbing behavior, but there are ways to avoid this. You may have some guilt or sympathy, or maybe you won't. Either way, you should say "Sorry!" or "Sorry, I can't." in the speedchat. Usually, noobs will say "No Problem" or "OK". Usually, I give them a happy or sad face to show my feelings. There are still times when they still throw a tantrum.

Please don't fight back, this will cause a bigger fight that toons will join into. There have been times when these noobs have reported the high laffers for being mean. To avoid this, just simply teleport away to a different district or so.

----------------------

I don't want to go to the VP/CFO with this noob! What should I do about this?

I have had many experiences with this. Usually the case is you find a good group of toons that you are confident you can go to the VP/CFO with. There's one problem though, there's an unwanted noob that wants to come with you.

Don't ditch them, or yell "Please go away!" or throw other stinky phrases at them. That noob can be a small child that's 5 or 6 years old, and they you can hurt their feelings by this. Just tell them "I think this is too risky for you.". 95% of the time, the noob still won't stop attempting to go with you. Maybe, just maybe, we can all be nice enough and give the noob a chance to go with you if they have more than 65 laff. If they have less than 60, I have to draw the line because possibly their unexperience gags, or cog fighting skills. In VP, they are most likely not to survive the Pie Throwing Part anyways. If you are able to go without the noob, but you are leaving the noob behind, throw him/her a "Sorry!" and a sad face (:-(). This will show the noob at least you care for them, or at least they will think you care..

In conclusion, if the noob still tries to go with you, and you don't wanna give him/her a chance to go with you.. I suggest you wait at least 10 minutes (if you really want to) for the noob to leave or something. This is quite risky, because you may lose the group you want to go with! If you can't stand it any longer, I suggest you go outside and change districts, or at least ask friends if they are ready for VP.

----------------------

This noob isn't helping us fight the cogs! What should I do?

There have been times when you have went into a factory or building with a noob, needing their help to win. But, there are "evil" times when the noob begins to use us, and not attack, leaving all the dirty work for us. First, you should say "Hello?". If she/he responds, they are pretty much using you, or out of gags. If they don't respond, you can't really tell if they are there or not. But in buildings or factories, you can determine it. At the end of the battle, you will walk to the next part of the cog fighting. If the unhelpful toon follows, I believe he/she is using you (or still out of gags). I think noobs should not go in buildings without gags, if they do find that out, I suggest they teleport back to the PG after the "discovery".

If the noob still uses you, throw him/her a "That wasn't nice!" or "Stop that!". I know this isn't a bad idea, but if the noob begins to REALLY use you, and you know it, keep attacking the cog, let the noob lose his/her laff. Don't toon them up. They deserve it. Its not nice using toons for your own toontasks or what-so-ever. You need to contribute. But, please, any under circumstances, don't throw a "Please go away!" or "You stink!" at the noob. If the noob begins to complain about his/her laff, tell them "Can you help me?". If the noob begins to help, give them a toon-up. If not, continue to leave their laff alone.

Noobs is basically an insult to people who have minor experience. Newb is just a basic term.

Actually, a noob is 15-60 because now you can have up to 120 laffs, and if half of 12 is 6, then just add the 0.

Hello? Are you still here?

Just yesterday in the Brrrgh, an sf and myself had a 4 story were about to go into, and a 23 laffer without ANY gags enters along with us. At this point our gag attacks are strong enough to kill each level 7-8 that comes along, however lure missed, and the 23 laffer was attacked. We let him sweat it out until into the fourth floor. Stood there, saying nothing the entire time. This was quite disturbing to me. We did the Hello? Are you still here?
Then finally just ignored him.
My friend tooned him when the last cog was standing, only because he was 75 points from Pixie Dust gag.
Oh, well.

Probably a very young kid

Scout Mama:

My friend and I had a similar experience with a little toon the other day. He kept following us from building to building as we worked on my tasks. He never said a word, never used a gag the entire time (I checked him out and he had no gags). As my friend pointed out, and I think she was right, he was probably a very young child who had no idea what the game was all about. As far as he probably knew, that was what toons were supposed to be doing...going into buildings and facing cogs.

We just let him follow along, and kept him tooned up so he wouldn't go sad. By the time I had to leave, the little guy had a star. We probably made some little one very happy.

Everyone should keep in mind when you see low-laff toons behaving in ways that don't make sense, they probably are very young children. My basic philosophy is to NEVER say "You stink" to another toon...no matter how badly I think they've behaved. There are some good alternatives in this thread.

Regards,

Squeek
