Question Toons with no toon up?

I have noticed that there is a bit of a bias against toons who don't choose the toon up gag track. I think that I have a bit of a bias against them personally. In my limited experience I have only battled with two fully developed toons without toon up and both of them were good players. What got me thinking about this was that in vp last night we had a toon with no toon up who was such a fantastic player. Not that the rest of us were slouches but this tall red mouse was just such a smart player and I was happy to have him on my side in both rounds. We barely took a hit and hardly needed to use toon up even in the skelecog round.

That being said, I don't know how things would have gone if we had had an inexperienced player with us who made a lot of errors. Also, I don't know if I would have wanted to be on a side with only the toonupless player.

Anyway, I would be interested to hear any thoughts you might have on this. Thanks.

Toonup?

I think toonup is ok, have it or not. The real question is would you be angry when YOU don't have toonup and no one else in your party does. Then.... this would be a really huge issue. It's like saying.... Do you care if your pizza didn't have tomato sauce? (My anwser is no, lol) Another question example is... Do you care that you can never save toontown from the cogs? (How do I think of these questions? lol)

If you did see my thread...you got it mixed up..

My friend DID have toon-up, I begged for him to give me one since I was dying but he didn't use it.

And yes, I do agree with people having a bias against people w/o toon-up.

Personlly i think it is quite annoying when you see a 105 laffer or something higher, that thinks they are one of the best players, but dont have toon-up. Toon-up is absoulutley neccesary! I hate going into the vp with 100+ laffers with nooooo toon-up. (Help!!Oh wait, you dont have toon-up! )

Toonup Challenged is OK

I have played on both sides of the fence. By Neo-Uber-Noobie has no toonup, and does the VP alot. I make it clear to new players that I don't have it. While some do complain, most just go on about the business of fighting. As long as we have 3 or 4 toons, we are ok. Is it a handicap? A little, but it also means I have more offensive gags than I would have if I chose Toonup instead of Sound.

I have played my bigger toons with players without Toonup, and once you know that is the case, it is no big deal. You adjust, and use your Toonup gags a bit more than you would if Toonup duties were equally shared. The only time I got worried was once when I ended up with a high LAF toon that had no Toonup, and we were alone agains the Cogs in VP. Just the two of us, which meant I would not be getting ANY toonups. At one point, my toon got pretty low on LAF, and we were about 2/3 of the way through. Fortunately, I had a Flippy or Madam Chuckle SOS, and that did the trick. Of course, the other toon was worried - who wants to fight alone? - and said "You are a genius!" when the SOS worked. (When we fought the Skels we had 3 to a side so it was no big deal.)

So in my opinion, Toonup Challenged toons are quite ok. It's just another way to play. I just want someone with me that has Toonup.

Have fun in ToonTown!

I do tend to have a bias against them, but I have a past experience to back it up with...

Factory run. Me, three other toons each with at two additional gag tracks. Plowing through cogs without much of a problem. I've been dodging my stuff so I end up being the group healer - which is fine. We get to the warehouse and the lure doesn't work. BOOM, I get hit with about 30 points of damage when I'm a 40 laffer. Then we have a little group conversation that goes like this:

I need a toon up!
Sorry I can't
Sorry I can't
Sorry I can't

You can guess how things went from there.

And for what its worth, you can still play smart and win without needing all five offensive tracks.

IMHO, new toons should get Toon-UP as their first free gag-track and then given the option to choose throw or squirt for the second freebie.

Toons without Toon-Up are actually less productive during battle and don't really help with Health problems. With them there is a slight decrease of win than toons with Toon-Up.

My Mood:
Personally, I think it is a discrimination against matter of opinions. Disney lets you CHOOSE for yourself to decide which gag tracks you want, and don't. If it this their choice, then it's THEIR choice, not YOURS. Worry about yourself and YOUR toon. You got toonup? Fine, good for you.

If you think it's a problem, then don't go into buildings/factorys/VPs with them. I just have a problem when I see people COVERED in "You Stinks" and "I think you should choose toon-up", because that is just rude, and some people need to be reminded that their is a real person with feelings behind every toon.

I agree. For this is an optional decision for the toon owner and shouldn't be treated as racist or discriminating problem.
