Pvp

How about a PVP area in the toontown. I think this would be fun. Make it where you either have to go to one area to pvp or have to be asked if you want to pvp. All points count towards development. If you lose all your gags go to the toon that defeated you. Only those that you can normaly handle though not ones that you can't. What do you all think????

Every time someone posts this I think "Why?". But it keeps coming up so maybe it is what people want/need in a game.

To me one of the things that helps make ToonTown different is that it isnt player vs player. Its us (toons) against them (cogs). We're all on the same side.

But, obviously some toons want to test themselves out. So maybe there needs to be something (other than the occasional fluke in tug-o-war) to let them lock horns and see who is the primo-toon?

There are lots of games out there where you can go after each other. Why not go play those? Sounds like someone just wants bragging rights! Let's drop this idea once and for all!

Nope. Being that hit or miss is determined by a random number generator then its hard to ignore the fact that pvp would be a luck of the draw sort of event which in turn would prove that the more powerfull the toon your fighting, the less likely you are to win.

HMMM...

You see a toon, you throw a pie, toon is dead.

OR

You see a toon, you throw a pie and miss. He throws one at you you die.

OR

You see a toon, you lure him, you taunt him for a turn or two, then you pie him.

This just does not seem fun to me. It was not designed to be a PVP game. It would need to go through many changes to incorporate that.

Pvp wouldnt work in TT , for reasons already pointed out.

I think some friendly competitions might be fun though.

Bobsled racing in the brrgh
Swimming in Donalds Dock
Marathon racing ( This has already been done with success )

Just a few ideas , nothing overly competitive , just friendly play.

Indeed. There is some considerable competition to get into the barrel of water with 15 seconds still on the clock. There is a contest to get more than 14 cog hits in 2 player maze (record currently held by Gnurk - I was there - the git), and some people have really incredible ability at Match Minnie...

May I add:

- TP-ing to someone with as many 'pssssts' as possible (some people say ten is the maximum, others disagree - dodgy graphic cards are a major advantage here).

- Trying to hit as many rings in the ring game with an opponent whose only aim is to poooosh you out of the way.

May I also add that, when TT goes truly PvP (through the hilarious process of elevator hopping) everyone suddenly seems to hate it ?

I have to say, i don't like that idea one tiny little bit. This goes against every single reason i play tt for. If i wanted to go out and play a game against someone i would. But tt was not created for that reason at all, it was created for kids. The fact that older people play is irrelevent. Toontown is popular for the fact that u get to work as a team to fight the evil, not become the evil. As mentioned before we have created our own competions between oorselves, and these are great. they are harmless. If you really want player v player i suggest you go play another game as well as toontown, i know alot of other people do. But honestly does anyone want to ruin the fun game toontown is? do we want to reck the game for competition purposes?
