cog radar. when u defeat euff cogs u can find a certain type of cogs on a street. if u fill all (i.e. how it sez 5 of 30) u can find cogs and bldings.

Cog Radar

To access the radar you only need to click the little logo on the left side of the grid for the different types of cogs. Then it will register how many of what type of cogs and how many buildings are on that street.

But like anything else in toontown, you have to earn it.
You have to fill the requested number of cogs in the cog gallery before it will work, it's great to have, really cuts down on the running in streets time.
Here's a screenie, I clicked on two of the logos.

It took me awhile to find out about this feature of the book too; and then it was only after a sf explained it to me. I spent so much time running on streets looking for buildings. I can't tell u how many times I wished this game came with some kind of basic instruction book.

*To see how the radar works click on the Tie icon beside the flunkies, the gavel for the law, etc next to each cog at the begining of the row in each category.
Let me tell u tasks and helping out friends is much easier now.
And my toons legs are much less sore.

They are working on one, and you can find a couple on the net, but the documentation in this game is seriously deficient. It's not uncommon among MMORPGs to see this, however.

I have been thinking of doing my own "manual" for ToonTown, but knowing how much time I spend playing, and reading these forums, and other things I do, I can be sure I could never complete the task.

Would anyone be interested in a collective effort to compile a user-created/maintained set of documentation? This would include literally everything, sort of like a Prima guide on steroids (i.e. not missing the stuff the lamo 30 dollar Prima guides leave out). By this I mean as comprehensive lists as possible of gags, items, sayings, strategies, fish, rods, you name it.

Remember...Disney is finally putting a guide together. I'm sure the Cog gallery will be explained.

There are a lot of things that I doubt Disney will ever put in their guide, I want to build a comprehensive one that will basically "spill the beans" on everything, including what to do/not to do in certain places, best uses of certain gags, things like "don't use a level 1 sound gag when all the cogs are lured and your party is in dire need of toon-ups".

Did you click on the logo on the left side of each cog type...like click on the sellbot logo and you should see it, and make sure you're on a street hehe.
I did that once...ehe.

I'm with you, I would look at that piece of worthless space in my book and wonder why they put it there. I'd click on the cogs and, of course, nothing would happen. I'd see pple look at their book and say "it isn't on this street" and wonder how they knew.

I was playing tt for a very long, long time before I finally learned the significance of the cog gallery. The tips fly by so quickly it's difficult to read them and even then, it took a posting on this board before I realized I needed to click the icon on the side. Grrrrr. Should have watched the 5-yr old. He probably figured it out a long time ago and just didn't know I was still in the dark.
