Percentage guide for items?

Is there a guide anywhere on what the percent chance you are going to get an item for a toontask from the cogs is? It seems like something the Dogfather would have made but I can't find one. If there isn't one we should start a thread where toons report the number of trys it takes to get a certain item. I've noticed that its different for different tasks, and I always like to know my chances!

The percentages to get a specific item are always random, just like fishing. While a guide could be made to detail approximate, you could get an item on the first try or the 100th (though don't worry, never seen any take that long). Typically, the tasks in TTC and Donalds Dock will come the quickest, while recovery for The Brrrgh and DDL items will take longer. It just depends on the difficulty of the playground.

Umm.. okay? Your post seems to disagree, then agree with mine. You are just saying the probability varies only by the playground?
From what I have read fishing percentages aren't random, you are much less likely to catch an All-Star fish than a Five Star Fish. Are you saying the probability is the same for every item? I can't say I know you are wrong, but I have played a couple toons through the tasks now, and it seems like certain items have a much lower probability and this is constant and not random. For instance, when I have the "Recover ____s Ticket from Glad Handers" task in MML, I often have to defeat 10 glad handers. With tasks like LOMs, it seems like you get one of the lumpy cheeses or similar items around 75% of the time (took me 8 big cheese for 6 lumpy cheeses recently).
I understand that these numbers will not be the same for every person, but that is why you would need to get a bunch of data before assigning a probability to an item. Most everything in Toontown seems to be based on probabilities like this so I'm assuming it is the same for these items. If I'm wrong, then please explain how I am wrong, otherwise maybe I didn't explain myself well enough in my first post and hopefully I've cleared that up.

It's another one of those probability things.
Every task where you have to recover an item from a cog has a set probability depending on the task. How much you ask? The answer is somewhere within the game coding...
Obviously the more cogs you defeat, the greater chance you have of getting that item.

It's not specific, but at least it's something.

I feel that the tasks are easier to complete at lower PGs, like TTC or DDock. If so, that would mean that you have a higher probability of finding your item in these PGs than at a higher PG like DDL. I too feel that these items are assessed a probability factor, and that the items to recover have a lower probabilty (lower chance of finding) at the higher PGs, such as DDL, and higher probability (higher chance of finding) at TTC.

It would be nice to try and figure out how probable certain items are.

Yeah I know my post had some problems, I think I was trying to get something out before the school bell rang. Also a bit confused myself. I mean, yeah there can be probabilities, but how necessary is it to know it? One can pretty much gather the chance of finding an item in any playground just due to the difficulty. Which is why I was saying a guide may not be really necessary. If you can prove me wrong and it is necessary, it doesn't bother me.

If you wanted to try a guide and see, I'm sure many people could help you. I wouldn't be interested as I don't have the time now to make new toons, but it could be fun to see.

I agree it isn't necessary at all. It wouldn't really help even since you have to defeat the cogs till you get the item no matter what. I've seen probabilities for fishing and stuff like that and this is the exact same.. it isn't necessary but sometimes its nice to have an idea. I guess I don't really care and probably wouldn't use it much, I just thought one maybe already existed.
