It recently came to my attention (well, I probably should have figured it out sooner) that over a Toon's life, he/she only gains access to six of the seven available Gag Tracks. This leads to an interesting dilemma... I've already chosen two of my 'gift' gags from Toontasks, and thus have access to the Squirt, Throw, Toon-Up and Lure lines. Toon-Up and Lure seemed like obvious choices to me at the time, but now I've progressed to the point where I am forced to choose between Trap and Sound, and find that the decision is not as easy this time around.
Considering most of the posters here are far more advanced players than I, I pose the following question: Which two of the three remaining gags should I pick up? Trap, Drop or Sound? |

How do Trap and Drop compare to Throw as far as damage is concerned? |

First, do you have a theme for your toon? I mean, do you have a certain style of play that you fall into when soloing or when with others who don't take the lead in choosing gags? How do you think of your toon? Why I ask is that when I had my first gag choice, I was all about sound. This is because deep down I like to break things, and sound let me break more things at once. Sure, the damage is lower than even squirt, but it's the only purely offensive AOE attack a toon can get. The next time I got to choose I strayed from my theme a bit, selecting toonup, because I play with my wife and we take buildings as a pair and it was difficult to take harder buildings without us both being able to heal. For my last slot I picked drop, since I figured a lure-activated gag like trap wasn't really in the spirit of Breaking Things. My new toon has chosen toonup first and after that, well, who knows? I think it'd be neat to develop lure early on and then go with trap next, finishing off with sound. I think it'd be fun to see how my playing style develops with that kind of setup. Anyway, what's your style? Trap requires playing with others, or at least an appreciation for a gag that lays low for a turn or two before doling out the damage. Drop is wacky, through and through: it rarely hits for so long that by the time you have it, you don't really need it, but oh man, it must be cool to be able to sling pianos around, huh? And sound is, well, all about breaking lots of things. Which of those appeal to you the most?

Now that I think about it, Drop doesn't really seem to suit me. It has low accuracy, and I certainly don't like missing. In addition, I don't believe Drop hits Lured Cogs, so I probably wouldn't get all that much use out of it. Also, I think that overall I might get more damage out of using Throw or Squirt with a group of Toons or Luring Cogs to get the 50% Squirt/Throw damage bonus than I would 'going it alone' and utilizing a powerful gag with a low hit rate. Hmmm. |

It's a personal decision. I like them all, but my fave is trap.
Trap is enjoyeable to me (not only for the heavy damage it does) but, because of the animation. I just love the way the cogs look down at it, *gasp, what is this?!* looks up at you, *why you dirty rat!* & then falls to their doom, or gets blown up

Got Lure and Toonup eh?
Trap is awesome! My personal favorite in the game. It levels up fairly fast (perfect accuracy), so you can decide to choose it later. Also, if you pick trap last or second to last, your toon will be a higher level. That will allow you to take a hit or two for after you set a trap, when you're alone. However, finding another toon to play with who has Lure is not a tough feat .If you want to have Sound, pick it next. It takes a fairly long time to get to Level 6 compared to the others. Level 5 Sound is spread from 2500-7500, unlike 6000 on the others. So, the earlier you pick it - and build it up - the better off you'll be later in the game. Drop is another gag that should be chosen early. It takes a while to level that gag as well, with its poor hit/miss ratio. I hope that helps
