I have had problems with downloading the new ToonTown installer because I have a newer version of Windows XP. I thought new members of ToonTown and TTC might need help too so here is the link to the new Install Launcher.

I have a newer version of Windows XP as well, and everytime I try to play it takes me right back to the news page, will this fix that?

Thats exactly the problem I had, yes it will. It fixed me, if you have any problems just post and I'll see what I did wrong.

Edit: Just tested it, again, it will work. Just click the link and when the window comes up click open. When the file comes up, just click it and click run. It will start the installer. Then just log in and everything is good as it was.

No problem, I just uploaded the file straight from the TT folder. So it should work, or else my TT does not work.

Will I still have all my friends that I had before?

As long as you enter you password and username in correctly, it will be just like normally logging in. The only thing different is that, it will show the intro video again but that does nothing. It will bring it up and you should have all of your friends and toons. The only problem with friends and sfs is that thing about the sf codes, that is not my fault that is something Disney messed up.

Yes, you'll still have your friends.

I don't understand, however, why toontown has not put a link to the new installer on their website for everyone to enjoy. It seems they only offer the download link if you visit toontown's site in a vista window or in a mozilla firefox window. No matter what I try I can't get offered a download using IE on my window's xp machine.

I can't even get that in a Vista window.

I'm really worried now... I just started the download and after a few minutes, it was only at 3% of phase_1, it said "Error Updating Toontown," and I had to login again. Don't tell me they set a timeout for this. I have dial up (I say that too much). Am I gonna have to ask my dad to take me up to Dunkin Donuts or somewhere to steal their wireless just to update Toontown every time? Hah...

I have tried Firefox and IE and could never get the link. Now I can play along with alot of other people.

Umm how many phases have to download? I swear I have had this thing downloading forever and its at phase 9 now.

Thanks for that. It never downloaded the new installer for me even though I'm using Vista and I even re-downloaded toontown. How on earth are we suppose to get it?

It took me about 4 minutes to download the whole game through the installer..old way only took 1 and a half minutes but the installer works so that's the main thing.
