Skill credit...

OK, I've got a burning question here. Let me see if I can explain myself clearly - if it's not clear, please let me know and I'll try again.

Say (for example) I am training gags in the factory. We are in the lobby with level 3, level 4 and level 5 cogs. If I choose to squirt the level 4 with a level 5 gag and a teammate takes out the level 5 with a throw gag, would I still get credit for that squirt?

If we were both to take out the level 5 and then go for the 4 together, any gag above level 4 would be that green or grey color, indicating that we get no skill credit if we use those gags.

So does anyone know?

yes, as long as the 5 is still alive *when you chose the gag* you can get leel 5 gag credit, even if you use the level 5 gag on a level 1 cog. As soon as you destroy the level 5 cog, your level 5 gag will no longer earn credit.

More info for you

You can see the credit by holding your mouse over the gag in your menu. It will show no credit if that is the case. It will also show the credit when you are getting multipliers like in an invasion or a building.

It is worth while to take out the lowest cog first if you are working up a gag. That way you will get the maximum credit for all of the cogs.

You might find this table helpful, it is from the CCG and is a minimum gag usage table. I use it all the time, even still.

Thank you

See whenever I'm gag training, I always tell my sf to take out the lower level cogs first because I thought that I wouldn't get the skill credit for using a firehose on a level 4 cog if he destroyed the level 5 with a cream pie.

He (for lack of a better word) argued that since we already picked our gags it wouldn't be fair if I didn't get the credit for my squirt since it was blue when I picked it (thus showing that I would get the credit for it).

I said (#1) well it is ToonTown, who said anything about fair (lol jk) Anyway - I would think that we should take out the lowest cog first because had I picked a firehose on a level 4 without the 5 being there, I definitely wouldn't get the credit for it.

We've decided to conduct a little experiment to be sure. At some point, we're going to take over a building and I'm going to use a high level squirt on a low level cog while he destroys the other cog (who will be a higher level) with a throw gag. That's the only squirt I'm going to use throughout the building (that way I don't have to calculate how many squirts I used multiplied by floor credits, etc *oof*). If I don't get credit for that squirt, then we need to destroy the lowest cog first from that point on.

You haven't considered the order of the gags here, TT has taken this into account. The gags always follow a certain order, top to bottom, lure to drop. They give you the points based on the cog levels when you PICKED them to compensate for this, as long as you hit the cog of course. TT can be a bit random in some aspects, but they did take care of this so that those who choose say, squirt and drop, have the same shot of points as say trap and lure. You don't have to run a building to be sure.

I did consider the order of gags that's what inspired my question.

Well, as long as ToonTown has it taken care of, no biggie. I just wondered.

I might run my experiment anyway when I'm bored and have nothing better to do lol
