Toontown Memory Leak.
I sent this to Toontown. Do you have any information on this subject and how Toontown is programmed?
Virtual memory and Ram capacity. Does Toontown use Virtual Memory. I have a 500+ Ram and have the ability to load 4000+ on my virtual memory. How is virtual memory used on Toontown? Constantly I have to restart because of slow-downs or lock-ups on Toontown. Will loading the max on virtual memory help regarding this problem? Thank you, John |

Windows always uses virtual memory. It is very slow so you prefer not to use it.
The minimum to run Toontown is 512MB RAM and a mid range video card. Intel video isn't good enough but any of the old time nVidia or ATI cards that have some 3D acceleration work fine. Top of the line video isn't required. Other toons are the biggest user of memory so 512 is OK if you play in districts with few toons. With 1GB you will be restarting in Nutty River every hour. With 1.5GB or more you will be able to play in Nutty River until bedtime. Entering Donald's Dreamland playground can use 30 MB or more. You should teleport to avoid that playground to minimize memory usage. |

1.5MB System RAM. You can buy at computer and electronics stores or many online sellers. Check your system requirements here:
http://www.crucial.com/ 2GB is likely to be a more convenient amount than 1.5GB. |

I suspected there was a problem such as this. My computer has 1GB of RAM and 512 on the Video Card and never have a problem, however, my son has 512 system RAM shared with the video and he bogs down frequently. This has been more of a problem over the past few months.
