My Toon got deleted....HELP

Would you believe it, I had built Lady Trixie up over the last couple of months to 64 and was nearly finished the Brrgh...then my six year old gets upset, because I have overtaken his 45 Good Ol' McCrumbledorf...and deletes me in a fit of temper!!!!!!! (I had only started Lady Trixie, because he wanted me not to play with Good Ol' M, he got me started on all this, bless him, now I am a member of addicted mum's club, if there is such a thing hoho).

He immediatley was distraught and came and told me, and spent all yesterday trying to make it up to me...he realised straight away how wrong he was, I mean it is only a game, but to destroy someone's hard work.....

Anyway he like me is counting the hours until Disney restore her, we sent an email straight away, but of course that was Sunday....anyone any idea how long they take to restore...will all my trees still be there??? (I had just planted my Birthday Cake tree that morning!!!!)

What a tragedy. Their should be a password to protect from this sort of deletion......

There is a password to prevent this sort of deletion, it is the PARENTAL PASSWORD. This password must be entered before a toon gets deleted. Perhaps your 6 year old should not know it.

You do have a way to recover your toon, use the Live Chat feature. It is located under Help > Report A Bug in the menu on the front page of TT. You can request that your toon be put back on the account. I also reccomend changing your Parental Password to something new, and don't share it with your child/children.

It isnt the parental password. It is the regular password that lets you log in to play. I used to think it was the parental password also until I deleted some toons. It is was too easy to delete toons which is why people shouldnt share their password.

I dont know how long it takes to get it back. Try live chat if you can catch them open. A friend of mine recently deleted all his toons to start new ones and wanted the old ones back. He did everything phone call, email and live chat, I dont remember which one of those worked, but it did work he had them all back in a few days.

We always log in using the same password, I didn't know about others, although I vaguely remember something about a parental password when I signed up, but that was over 2 years ago, when my son was 4. Then we only played occassionally and mostly he messed about in Toontown Central. It wasn't until this year that he played more seriously, and, as he has only just started reading independently, could not type the password in by himself until recently.

So maybe the problem is we log in to play using the parental password, and we have another long forgotton password for ordinary gameplay? I will have to investigate with TT. But I don't think he will do the same thing twice...he is MUCH more upset than me.

My Bad! You are right. I guess I always entered the Parental Password when deleting a toon because I simply expected it to be needed.

I went through all the account preferences and options, and there is nothing there about needing or even being able to choose to require the Parental Password for deleting a toon. I think that we should be given a similar option for deleting toons, to the one that we are given regarding having Secret Friends; Parental Password required or not.

My household computers have the password for Toontown saved, so it must be manually entered if any preferences are changed or toons deleted.

I think the password has something to do with the secret friend settings. You only need the parent password if you have restricted secret friend access.

Disney should return your toon soon, though you may have to go through live chat. Sadly, I think you lose all your friends. Not sure about the garden.

Two ideas for the future:
You can get him his own account and you can play together. Then he can't delete your toons again. My son has his own account and loves to help Mommy's toons.

You can have the password autofill in windows so when he logs in, if it asks for the password he can just hit tab to autofill it. That way he doesn't have to know the password. My son is only 4, so that's how we have his computer set up.

Unless you go into the Account Details with the main password you won't know there is a child password.

I set this up so my kid logs on with the kid's password.

When deleting toons I didn't think it asked for a password - I thought it just got you to type the word delete This may be if you've logged in via the parent password though as we hardly delete characters now - and when my son was going through his "delete and create a new one" phase we were probably still using the main password.

Sorry to hear about losing the toon. Hope you get it back

My deleted Toon is Back...hooray

Only took 3 days.

Just so everyone knows, she is back with same laff meter, same number of gagas etc. But Doodle is gone and I had to re purchase the gardening kit and replant the garden. BUT my gardening skills still there, ie I still have the large watering can and points towards next shovel.

Still had all my jellybeans too.

Also still have all my purchased phrases and acting lessons, but my house has gone back to normal.

Still have the doodle tricks...just have to save up for a new Doodle, I will miss my little blue Bijou!!!

So all is not lost if you accidentally lose your Toon all it takes is an email to Disney
