Planning your guide
What is your guide going to be about? Do you know All or most about what your guide is about? These are important questions you must know to make a successful guide. Remember, people will follow your guide Thats the reason for a guide.
Making your guide
The componets for a good guide is
~Table of contents
- One Section
- One section
- One section
Etc. There should be a section for everything you have in your guide.
Giving your guide a title
What is your Guide going to be named? Something simple like; (Name here)'s Guide to ______
..And so on. Make it creative, yet accurate.
Getting the guide Stickied.
First off, what Is a sticky? A sticky is a thread that remains at the top of the forum, only mods can sticky. You can ask a mod to sticky it but it's not guaranteed they'll say yes. Only if it's worth stickying, will it be stickied.
Picking the Right Forum for your guide.
This is something you must know. Something simple like a guide to, Ex. SF'ing, would go under the Secret swapping forum. If mods feel your guide is not in the right place, they have that right to move it.
Tips
-Be accurate. Like I said, people will follow your guide.
- Grammar is everything. Spell the best way you can, so people can understand you. Something like "my gide to a suxsessful gide" isn't going to work. Spell check everything!
-Don't copy Guides. That's the worst thing you can do; is copy someone's guide. You, your account, and your copied guide can get deleted.
-Most of all have fun! Guides are basically maps to something.
-Quadruple-check EVERYTHING! Make sure you have the right spelling, and wording, fix all typos, and correct information, and also make sure that everything is in the right place. Organization, grammar and spelling, and research are totally necessary to making a great guide!
-Word everything very carefully! Don't want to confuse your readers, do you?

It's hard to make a guide for amking a guide. Most guides have a pretty different concept each, and naming each would be hard.
My advice to you is to read around the different types of guides and collect each by a genre. Then you can give advice on what you should name as the genres. Read the guides' table of contents and then see what is similiar to a SF guide to a racing guide. Try and figure out the hardest parts of making one and the easiest parts. Help the users who read this with every part and what they should do for their genre of guide.
