++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ OK, I have put up a temporary trial page that lets people try out a slightly more detailed IRC Chat client. Go here to try it (its hosted on my own pages). Like the one on the main page, it has a security warning. Click YES to the Security Warning ("trust me, I'm a toon") Nick - Enter a Nick where you see "Guest" (If you forget then you can change it when the chat opens by typing /nick Pass - Leave as is Server - Leave default; only select different if having trouble connecting Port - Leave as is It runs in java like the one on the front page of toontowncentral.com and if you use Internet Explorer then you wont have to download anything (java is built in to it). It will take you to the main #toontowncentral and also to #toontowntrivia. That's right, you can have more than one window open at a time. Click on the buttons at the top to change chat channel windows. Please let us know if you try it. We want to know if its worth having as a permanent option for chatting.

The free version I am trialling does not have a lot of flexability about text colors, so I seem to be stuck with Aqua for the Actions ... but then again, what's wrong with Aqua? ![]() BTW: I am also looking at a couple of other java clients that may meet my criteria:

simple to use
cheap/free
better than what we currently use
Hope to post about them within a week or so. As we have had the old client for well over a year I dont think I need to rush too much.

So shoot me. I didn't look at Dandy's problem tonight.
Instead I tried out another java client. This time one developed by a French guy. I have no idea what they were saying in the demo chatrooms but it looked very romantic. Anyways, I have put this other chat applet up onto my pages and I would appreciate feedback. The options let me do a lot more than the one I put up last week. At the moment I have it locked down to the main two chat rooms we use . If you are interested in trying it go here . There is a security warning about the applet being unsigned. That basically means I havent spent the time to recompile it. Click Yes if you trust me, no if you dont (No will mean it wont open the applet, so you wont be able to use it). BTW: its free !
