RIP Johnny Cash & John Ritter

Johnny Cash was a very talented musician who I will miss sorely. And as for John Ritter, I had a cruch on him when I was a little girl, and was glad to see he was again enjoying success with his new sitcom. May both of these gentlemen rest in peace.

omg John Ritter!?

I'm in shock over John Ritter he was not very old.while I never thoought too much of his acting,I have a tremendous respect for his "Physical comedy"he followed in the footsteps of Buster Keaton,Charlie Chaplin,ANd A few more of the great slapstick actors. What a shame his life was cut short.

Johnny Cash was a wonderful singer songwriter, one of the few country satrs I actually liked!I got to meet him a few years back, being a stagehand,I occasionally get the opportunity to meet stars. He was a great man. That lived a long full life.

They will both be missed by many I'm sure, and the world will be a sadder place without them both. What a sad day!

I too am still in shock. What a great loss for not only the music industry, but the comic world as well.

John Ritter was a very funny man who always had time and money to donate to charity. He practiced what he preached. He publicly made apologies when it was needed and rallied in times of need for our country. His birthday is in five days, he would have been 55.

Johny Cash is a music legend. Even before he died. I am not in the era of his music, yet, even my children know some of his songs. He was a great artist, songwriter, and singer.

The angels in heaven are lucky to have them.

Godspeed and my prayers will be with their families.

A sad day...

I was so sad to see the news of these two wonderful people. Their stars are in heaven now.

I haven't seen it mentioned here yet...John Ritter also voiced Clifford for PBS.

I too am greatly saddened by both of these passings...

I grew up listening to Johnny Cash...he truly is an icon. I am happy though that he can now be reunited with his beloved June who passed a few months ago. What a legacy he has left behind...he was an inspiration to many genres of music.

How sad to see that John Ritter passed away. He was always my favorite from 3s Company. What a tragedy, and so young too.

I am sad to hear about the deaths of two such respectable men today. While they are both well renowned, they were both good people at heart as well.
I truly respect where Johnny Cash came from as he worked passionately, becoming one of the top recording artists. He had been in poor health for sometime but he did live an interesting and full life.
I was surprised to hear of the unexpected death of John Ritter. He was a thoughtful person who donated to charities and even hosted some. He was so young to depart!
My thoughts and prayers are with both men's families. They will be remembered for their contributions to our society, for the laughs, the tears (some of Johnny's music), and the enjoyment many received in watching and listening to them.

I'm especially saddened by the passing of John Ritter.

*Sigh*, why is it that the stars of all my favourite cartoons are suddenly just passing on?

First, earlier this week, we had Jaclyn Linetsky, who did the voice of "Caillou", passing on after a fatal car accident. Now, John Ritter, who does "Clifford".

My condolences and sorrow to the families and friends of Mr. Ritter. He was good, and he shall be well missed.

*Sigh* Clifford will never sound the same.

Very sad to hear about Johnny Cash and shocking to hear about John Ritter.
Both will be missed.

I just recently saw Suzanne Somers on tv and I know she will be in shock right now too.

Johnny Cash was a genuine American icon, a dear gentle man who had a tremendous gift for songwriting, storytelling, and singing. I'm not really surprised to hear of his passing, because he'd been in such ill health over the last few years. Plus losing his beloved June earlier this year made his passing almost inevitable, I think. Hopefully he and June are making sweet, beautiful music in heaven right now, with the greatest backup choir of angels heaven has ever seen or heard.

I am stunned and saddened by John Ritter's passing. I grew up watching Three's Company, and I always thought it was a pretty dorky show, but John's great gift of comedy, both verbal and physical, was the prime reason why that show was watchable at all. Plus I remember him as the preacher on The Waltons, oh those many years ago. He has always struck me as a tremendously kind man who never really took himself seriously at all, and who loved his family with every fiber of his being. You never heard anyone say anything bad about him. He was a true gentleman in a business where gentlemen (and gentlewomen) can sometimes be hard to find.

I will miss them both, and I will keep their families and friends in my thoughts and prayers.
