ToonTown Central Logo Competition

We need a new logo for our site. The logo we have now is ok but in the end if we wish to use it on merchandise then we will be breaching copyright.

The rules of the competition will be...

• We need an original vector image for printing purposes as well as using that for online work. 360dpi would be great.
  
• The logo cannot exceed 100 pixels high and 350 pixels wide.
  
• The logo must contain the words ToonTown, Central and Fansite.
  
• The logo must not resemble the current or old Toontown logo. It must be original.
  
• It must not contain any screenshots or parts of screenshots or parts of images that are on the ToonTown site or captured from the game.
  
• Basically anything that is intellectual property of Disney must not be used.

The reason of this is that we wish to make the merchandise "legal" and therefore not even have a chance of being stoped by Disney.

Once we have an acceptable logo then we can start sending out merchandise with our logo and other silly things on them.

do you own this place also i think if disney finds out that you made a site about toontown they might sue you because toontown is copyright i would be a bummer if this site shut down

I do not believe you can own a word that is in the dictonary. ToonTown does however have a Service Mark. I'm not sure if the Service Mark is for the Designed Logo or on the Name. Either way it's a gray area. If Disney wanted to pursue it they could possable force you to stop using the name or shutdown the site. I don't beleive Disney is crazy enough to sue. With all that said you can all was have a space between Toon and Town and their is nothing Disney can do.

However I could be wrong.

The phrase "ToonTown" is not copyrighted by Disney. There are several business on the internet and in the real world that had ToonTown a long time before Disney. Also several other companies such as Warner Bros, Hanna Barbarra(now owned by Warner Bros but not at the time), etc have had ToonTown as well, long before Disney.

Just because we have a site that is about the game also does not mean that Disney has any right to the contents on this site. As for the logo, Nick is right, as long as our logo does not contain actual screenshots of Disney's game then there will be no issues in using the material on the merchandise or this site.

Can it be a drawing of something that is on ToonTown online? Like a drawing of something, not like a toon (or I guess, even a toon-like drawing), but something found on the game, just not an actual screenshot?
