These are my favorites. I love the sign one because it's simple, and fits well with TTO, but the Beansfull of Fantastic Info one will probably get my vote

due to a stomache virus I have not had the opportunity to elaborate on a static logo more than to take a frame from my animated one yet but when I get better I will furnish the board with another static logo submission

Nice! You could also make it a 2 frame Gif, with the gears shifting halfway, and make it transparent with a neutral, colored matte

lotsa talent there, but a 700K+ logo? Sorry Phillo, but surely <15K is more acceptable... Otherwise, those on dialup will be waiting for minutes to see it... The current logo is around 7K (note - 1% of your one, or 100 times faster in displaying...)

The best logos are those that load quickly, are instantly recognisable and retain fidelity on screen and in printed media.

Edit: my vote goes to this one for the moment...

Philo Q Phungi's static logo is 11kb ... i don't know where you got your stats. i think all logos submitted have been great to be honest! anything below 15kb should be just fine for a dial up connection, no problem! i like all submittals and it is hard to vote upon one (esp since i know a few of you) but my fav so far is the transparent gif of Philo's ... i like the colors:

OK I have a request that should not even need to be said but obviously some people here do not care about what they say and if it might be wrong or not
((Word of caution I am going to get on my soap box here and blow some steam))

PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THE POSTS THAT YOU ARE REPLYING TO !!!!
AT THE VERY LEAST USE THE QUOTE FEATURE SO THAT OTHERS NEED NOT GO BACK AND TRY TO FIND WHY EXACTLY YOUR COMMENTS ARE WRONG....... FOR INSTANCE ABOVE WE HAVE A POST BY SOME USER NAMED RADIX2, HE REFERS TO A LOGO BUT THEN GIVES THE STATISTICAL DATA FOR A TRAILER OF THE LOGO... PROBABLY DONE TO CONFUSE AND MOTIVATE THOSE WHO EITHER DO NOT KNOW HOW OR WILL NOT HAVE THE TIME TO GO AND CHECK OUT HIS FACTS

lotsa talent there, but a 700K+ logo? Sorry Phillo, but surely <15K is more acceptable...

HE SAID, WELL THE LOGO IS LESS THAN 15KB AS A MATTER OF FACT IT IS LESS THAN 11KB AND THE ANIMATION HE REFERS TO IS CALLED A TRAILER WHICH IS A RELEASED VERSION OF THE LOGO BUT MUCH LONGER IT IS USED TO ATTRACT ATTENTION TO THE LOGO AND TO GIVE IT MORE MEANING IT ESTABLISHES A POINT IN WHICH YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE SMALL LOGO CAME FROM AND WHERE PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT CAN GET A BIGGER TASTE OF THE CONCEPT 700KB IS ACTUALLY A G R E A T SIZE FOR AN ANIMATION WHICH IN .AVI FORMAT WAS OVER 12MB

Ok now that everyone knows that the accusations made against my logos with respect to their size were incorrectly stated as well as the fact that they were bundled with a recommendation to choose another designer's submission over mine for those incorrectly stated so called FACTS I will stand down from ye olde soapbox and return to my work of trying to create a good Logo for ToonTownCentral.com One worthy of competing against all the other great works submitted by my fellow designers. I also would hope that there will be no more comments against any of the logos especially those comments which are inspired by the typical candidate bashing so often seen in political advertising which is meant to sway the uninformed voter to choose a candidate based on incorrectly stated propaganda.

My appologies to anyone this post may have annoyed and for the length of it but I felt that something needed to be said before this type of rhetoric got out of hand.

Woah. Run-on city, baby. Where are your periods?

Anywho, I like the sign one. Simple, small, awesome. 2 thumbs up.

The only rhetoric that has been seen in this thread is yours...

You are way off base Mr Phungi. The motivation behind my post was simply to point out that 700K was too large for a logo and to mention which one I liked. I had never heard of a trailer for a logo (movie's yes). When pointed out that that was not your actual logo, I stated where I got my fact from (your own earlier post) and apologised.

I even commented on your obvious talent. oh well, some people are either paranoid, or just hard to please. I've stated which my preference is, and nothing in your post has guilted me into changing that opinion.

Congratulations to all who have contributed, including Philo despite his attempt at character assassination (hehe - how's that one?)

Yes the animation is cool BUT for a logo that can be printed on t-shirts, mouse pads and such it needs to be static. Unless someone wants to spring for holographic pictures on these items.

The way I have done it in the past for clients and myself is a combination of the above And if you a re a student of conceptual creation vs graphic creation it gives you the proper perspective to understand the model. A static logo is the final product of the concept..... and it is a single frame of a very small and subtle static logo with some movement in the background for that always something different atmosphere ((or feel to it)). That is taken from a much larger animation which gives alot more information but also alot more entertainment and it is something that not everyone sees all the time it is like a treat. That is how my logos have been submitted here with the final product in mind but the emphasis put on KEWL and SLICK.... and the trailer was just for those who wanted more So all three can be used but the bulk of the usage would be the static for all printing and quick reponse page ensignia the very small subtle animation is the only other one most will ever venture far enough to notice and then the trailer is kinda just kept for posterity and something to show manyyears after

(and by the way GLAD to see the forum return to the melting pot model rather than the boiling pot it had become ((which I regret mhaving been a part of )
