I will still stick with the factory, if you do a 5 story Sell building for merits you should think about the following:

1. The time to look for one
2. You don't know how many cogs or the levels
3. A building may slow you down due to other toons working gags
4. No Toon up, Gags or Jellybeans in a building.

I think sticking to the factory is nice for the fact you know you can solo it, you have gags, you have Toon up, and Jellybeans. Not that it matters all that much, but at least in factory you know exactly what you are going to get in merits, and don't have to worry about running low on gags due to having high level cogs.

I'm quite sure that a 5 story with higher level cogs will yield well over 300 merits easily. I can foresee a situation where 5 story sell buildings will be few and far between in the near future as higher suited Hollys gobble them up for merits, thus leaving the toons working the Brrgggh to look elsewhere to get their minglers and recovery items from Hollywoods. This is just another catch 22 Disney has created and will have to somehow resolve once again.

Quite honestly, I only see this update as helping the Holly 50 and any Hollywoods that are now required to get less than 2000 merits for their next promotion. Any Hollywood level toon that is required to get any more than 2000 merits will be required to complete more factory runs than the old system with 5500 merits. With the old system requiring 5500 merits, it took 10 full runs and a partial to complete merits. Under the new system, if you are required to get 2000 merits, you will still have to complete 10 full runs plus a short run. The key word here is "complete". No more merits for aborted runs.

So, are we really getting off easier? I suppose that question will be answered soon when we finally figure out what the merit requirements are for the different Hollywood levels.

You're absolutely right on points 1 and 2, which is why I stated what I did in the second paragraph.

For me personally, items 3 and 4 wouldn't apply to me as it might to others. When I make time for a task such as this I tend to pair up with a good mutual friend of ours or do it myself with my other toon.

Aside from all that, and until we know exactly what the new merit requirements are, I believe this update in general only benefits the Holly 50 anyway. Although Hollys are subjected to lower merits for promotions, they also now earn significantly less merits and in certain situations will be required to run the factory many more times than ever before.

In my opinion they did this on test, and now to our misfortune they brought it to open. My MH 26 on test needs 1520 mertis which seems ok, but that is a lot of factories. I usually wind up soloing them which is very easy, but also more boring than ever. My big Frizzy on open is at RB 25 and needs 2460 bux. Now that is also going to be a chore. I don't think we know how many bux we get per floor in bullion. Do we? And I don't think soloing is an option.

I'am certainly angry. I was so close HW 46 going for 47 soon. Now this dumb good for nothing update came along, and ruined everything! Why couldnt they leave things the way they were! Disney's gona torture us with their evil updates!

I think that Robber Baron/ Mr. Hollywood 12 (?), 15, 20, 30, 40, and possibly 49 need 8900/ 5500 because they are levels where you get laff boosts or are more major levels. (12 is when you entered the big merits/ cog bucks and since 49 is the highest level besides 50, 49 may need the 8900/ 5500 we originally needed.) This is my most logical guess.

How did you get 197? When I do a full factory run, I only get 194. And yes you will need 5500 at level 49m but at level 50 you don't need amy more. My test toon got a key and can just go to cfo any time.

Here is the reason: You are closer to getting a laffboost(Hollywood 30) than she is. She is a 35 and needs 5 more VP's, you are a 28 and so you only need 2 more VP's.

well i havent did any bucks yet, becasue when i got on i was full but i did do some meitrs and i had to do 8 runs i think. So at this point i like but when i get higher i want like it. My friend still need 8900 bucks and she said she is not doing it, I dont blame her. I think right now for me this is going to be easy, so i like the update in that way. Now after i need 8900/5500 i will be mad that is 30 runs in the fac. I dont like doing 10 runs in fac. Now i am going to look for beter ways dont mean i find them but it want hurt me to try. I seen one thing about the building though, I got lest in a building then was said in the post, and my friend got like 275. I heard some others that got 184 are something. So i dont know about this and how it works.

You are right about Mr Hollywood 20 needing 5500 merits.I will have to do 28 factories now to advance.I did a full factory the long way yesterday and earned 194 merits.A 4 story sell in DD got me 74 merits.I don't mind doing this one time,but I am looking at 30 more levels to Holly 50.With merit increases at laff levels that means I will need 5500 merits 3 more times.If Disney keeps decreasing cog levels in fights this is going to be too boring.
