Valentine Poetry Contest Winners!

Valentine Poetry Contest Winners!

Chili Lilies are red, Upsy Daisies are blue, we like to rhyme, how about you? Based on the overwhelming response - Toons really like to rhyme! Please join the Toon Council in congratulating the Toons who submitted the top 5 Toontown Valentine-themed poems. Each winner receives a 4GB iPod nano of their very own!

Mattie B., 9
My Laff Points were soaring,
My heart skipped a beat.
She sat on the Trolley,
Just swinging her feet.

I raced through the Playground,
To catch that pink bear.
I jumped on the Trolley,
Without a second to spare.

Tag, Tug of War...
She won every game.
I never had time,
To ask for her name.

Back to the playground,
I kept her in sight.
She counted her gags...
She was ready to fight.

We raced through the tunnel,
We ran side by side.
When a Cashbot appeared,
I wanted to hide.

I fought with my heart,
My gags all ran out.
She gave me a Toon-up,
She gave me a shout!

The memory I have,
Will always remain.
That Valentine's Day,
On ole' Loopy Lane.

Jennifer C., 5
I log onto Toontown,
And what do I see?
"Hello's" and "Hi there's"
Directed at me!

I think to myself,
Something must be wrong.
How can Dogs, Cats, and Mice,
All get along?

This is the greatest game ever,
So much fun to play!
To all the Toons everywhere,
Happy Valentine's Day!

Sydney B., 9
I skip through Toontown everyday,
Trolley Games are my favorite thing to play.
I love to swing from vine to vine,
Oh Toontown, you are a true love of mine.

I fight the Cogs from here to there,
Bossbots, Cashbots, everywhere.
With Cog invasions and buildings too,
There's always just so much to do.

Cog Headquarters are dangerous places to be,
But with help from my friends, we will defeat the V.P.
I play fish bingo at the pond,
My rod moves like a magic wand.

I feed my Doodle all the time,
The blue ones are his favorite kind.
Daisy's garden is my place,
She always has a smiling face.

From Donald's Dreamland to Donald's Dock,
He's always there around the clock.
Mickey and Minnie's Playgrounds are nice,
But I like Pluto's land of ice.

Chip and Dale's Minigolf is Fun! Fun! Fun!
But at Goofy's Speedway I'm #1.
Toontown is a happening place,
But make sure you don't take a pie to the face.

To all my friends I'd like to say,
Have fun in Toontown and Happy Valentine's Day!

Kimber P., 37
One Twolip, two Twolip, three Twolip, four,
You are the Toon that I adore!
I knew from the start,
Our paths wouldn't part.

You gave me your Wedding Cake,
And I gave you my heart.
Your puppy dog ears and my piggy snout,
Together we rule Toontown - without a doubt!

Meet me in Daisy's Garden,
Under the arch made of vine.
Your cute purple swine,
With the heart-shaped sign.
Will you be my Valentine?

Shawnta S., 30
My dearest Spin Doctor, it is sad to say,
Our love can never be.
You are made from tin and screws,
I grow Gags on a tree.

So all that I can do,
Is love you from afar.
And turn my back when all my friends,
With pies hit you so hard.

Maybe one day they'll make a law,
Toons and Cogs unite.
Imagine Princess Coconut Gigglemonkey,
As your lawfully wedded Toon-wife!

Oh I hope they are from last year. Because I wrote a pretty good one. I'm trying to win the iPod nano for my best friend, Miss Megan. I already have a video iPod so I wouldn't have a use for it.

I doubt a 5-year-old could write a poem like that. I bet it was a sibling or parent who helped her.

Helped? Psst, probobaly MADE it rather than HELPED her.
A 5 year old can't even TALK that good or even THINK that good, if you think a five year old could do that...

Well, five year olds can talk and think well...

They just couldn't write that good of a poem.

As a matter of fact, they can. My cousin is 5 and I visit him a lot. He is capable of doing a lot of things. The adult could have helped her think of words. The main idea of the poem was probably made by her.

Yes she is right. The kid probably came up with the idea and maybe with a little help from her parents she was helped with ryhming and spelling. Never underestimate children. I know children who can do amazing things.

Smile

my friend's sister has a five yr old brother and he can play the piano really good. i think he's one of those children with a special talent. So maybe that 5 yr old kid did make it up but then the parents wrote it on paper and correct the grammer a little.
but i dunno maybe the parents made the whole thing up. Who knows...
