I'd need a little bit more money to get to Florida from here...

Well I am bummed it won't be in Southern California as it was last year. But, I do think it will be nice for those on the east coast to have some event come to them. I am curious myself as to what they have planned, I agree with Tinkercat on having it in Toontown. It makes the most sense, since they close the doors to toontown at a certain time anyway. That way you just show your ticket that you print to get in, however does that mean that you would need to buy a park ticket to get in?? I'm sure they will have a way around it. Having not been to WDW in a long time myself, I have forgotten all of the places they have.

Unfortunately, my family and I won't be attending since we live pretty far away. Even my non-toontown playing husband is bummed we can't go! So for those who are attending have fun, it was such a cool thing! And those thinking about it, I highly recommend going! You will look back on it later and appreciate it even more!

Well they could potentially have the toonfest at mutliple locations with them links via video conference and have some devs at each place. They could have one at WDW in Orlando, one in Disneyland California, Tokoyo Disney, Hong Kong Disney and Paris Disney.

That way more people could attend the event even from outside the United States.

They could even maybe sometime have the Toonfest on the Disney Cruise line. Instead of making stopping at port just go out for 2 or 3 days. Those have 875 staterooms with at least 2 to a stateroom for at least 1750 people on the ship.

So not sure how many was able to go to the Toonfest last year but this would be another option.

Plus they need to let people know earlier then a month out when they are doing it.

Thumbs up Definitely going!!

Can't wait! I just wish they had given more time to plan. They are usually sooo organized about events that I wonder why not on this one. Makes me wonder how comitted they really are to TT.

I went to Epcot a couple of weeks ago and looked for TT gifty items in the shops. They had NOTHING. The clerk I asked told me I had to buy the stuff online...grrrr! He was, uh, lets say less than helpful.

Anyway, hope to see some of you guys there...

Your best bet for finding toon-themed items would probably be at a shop in Toontown at the Magic Kingdom. Here at Disneyland, Toontown has a couple of toon items for sale, such as toon gloves, toon toys(not game toys), etc. Of course no game only stuff, as the game isn't THAT popular yet.

And I'm not sure if Disney could do the "all Disney places" thing, as I don't think ToonFest is available to people who use the non U.S. version of the game. Last year it wasn't anyway...

I hadn't tried to get ticket or go because either coast costs me flight there. But why wouldn't it be open to non U.S. Version of the game? Especially if they made it at all Disney places.

Disney...hire this person and put them to work! This would be PERFECT!

I think YOU ARE BRILLIANT. I have always shied away from a Disney cruise and this is one I WOULD take. And they had 1500 at the studios last year with less than a month's notice. ( of course it cost 10 bucks) but still, I suspect since they already do a lot of themed cruises that a Toontown themed one would be..."just the ticket"

They need to hire you. Imagineerlgregg!!!!

OK...I am wondering...where ARE they going to have this party? Then I remembered reading the interviews with the developers about how to make a MMRPORPG...

I remember that they got their start at DisneyQuest...

Is that still open?

It is at Downtown Disney.

How many people can it hold.

That would be a familiar venue for them. Though I vote for toontown in MK handsdown as THE BEST PLACE.

Thoughts?

Tink

this could be the plan and the venue. Makes me think that Saratoga Springs might be best place to stay...hmmmm.....Disney start talking!

hmm this COULD be the plan....but the hours...they will have to close it to non toonfest or it will be mobbed....

http://www.officialticketcenter.com/quest.htm

capacity=1000 people. less than Disney Studios. Hmmm.

http://www.solarius.com/dvp/wdw/disney-quest.htm

Ok I looked at the Saratoga Springs resort and it looks nice. It has boat transfer to Downtown Disney. So IF they to indeed hold it at DisneyQuest and IF one is lucky enough to get tickets because demand will exceed supply if that is where it is..that would be a good place to stay. I think I would want to spend one day at toonfest, one at blizzard beach or typhoon lagoon or maybe even Discovery Cove..( which is seaworld but amazing place). Maybe the MK...I love the castle. I hope they are finding a way to hold in in toontown at MK. I guess we have to wait till July 11...

Thanks for the complement. I have lots of ideas, don't know if they would implement any of them.

Will be at Disney World

I just happen to have Florida vacation planned that has us arrive in Orlando on Aug 2nd. So if I can get ToonFest tickets I will be there. Anyone that knows me or one of my toons that is planning on being there please PM me. I am an adult and would not mind meeting other adults that play TT.

though I am still wary of Florida in the summer. I grew up there. It isn't California!

I hope you have a great time and I will email you if we go. Right now I am thinking it would be ridiculously expensive to fly to Florida for this....although it is the day before my birthday. I am still really curious WHERE they are holding it. For me, I know I COULD go it is just whether it worth it. Maybe it I spent all our time in the parks at night and days napping or in pool. I am not into heat and crowds. If they are having it at DisneyQuest of course it would have AC. I still am wondering if I have guessed right on that knowing the venue would be extremely familiar territory to the people who make toontown. More so, I am guessing, than Toontown at Magic Kingdom.

Feeling right now that we got to see the best of Toonfest because getting to go to Disney studios was very special.

As for the middle of the country question, they have a DisneyQuest Chicago

Some ideas you guys are coming up with are brilliant. But I am cynical! I believe some ideas would cost Disney too much money. If they hold it at one of their Parks in Orlando, that is going to be their cheapest option. Disney has a reputation with money and I can't see them doing multiple worldwide venues simultaneously or using the cruise liner either as that would also cost them more money than at a park (and our ticket prices would go up enormously).

I really love some of these ideas but while Toonfest is still a relatively new event (this is only the second time they've done it), I'm guessing they won't do anything more exciting than just finding a single suitable cheap venue and they won't have to pay for hiring their own property. Maybe one day they might do Toonfests across the world, but they will be at Disney parks (Paris, Hong Kong, Japan etc).

But if Toonfest was really so popular last year and this one also proves very popular, you never know ... maybe Disney will have to seriously think about organising something on a much bigger scale. Keep the ideas coming in, maybe some of them will actually filter through to those who organise the event!
