Toontown Central Merchandise Update

UPDATE ON ORDERS

I received this email from the merchandise supplier:

quote: There will be no toontown orders redone nor any future orders placed because my former employer has a temporary injunction against me printing at this time. I can send you some blank shirts to make up for the inconvience this has caused you. Also I can send you the art files if you decide to print through anyone else. Again I apologize for the trouble this has caused you.

I can't express to you all how very sorry I am about this whole thing. We are in the process of finding another supplier. Fern has two really good leads and we are still going to try to meet our Christmas deadline.

If anyone does not want to wait, please contact me at eglyntine@millerwrite.com and I will refund your money.

Again, I am extremely sorry for all of the problems we have been having with your orders. Please know that I have not spent anyone's money, I have held on to it just in case anything went wrong.

This is our first time doing anything like this and I don't think any of us were prepared for the worst case scenarios to happen right off. We definitely appreciate your support and patience in this matter and we will get it resolved asap.

Thanks again,

Toontown Fansite Merchandise

We obviously are not going to be able to make the Christmas Deadline folks. The suppliers were way to swamped to try to get these out before Christmas.

Again, anyone that would like their money refunded please email me at eglyntine@millerwrite.com.

Thanks again.

cafepress

Why not use cafepress? They're incredibly reliable, and have a really cool selection of stuff you can make, cups, shirts, stickers, calendars, whatever. And you don't have to carry inventory, it's made on demand..

Check them out:

They are kind of expensive, and their payback is kinda low.

I do wish that I had time to have gotten involved. I work for a number of local print shops and graphic designers, just about all of whom owe me favours (some owe me money, too :)

When we first began this venture, I looked into Cafe Press. This was well over 6 months ago.

Here's the main reason we said No to them (This is just a portion of their contract rights agreement that I am quoting):

6.1 CafePress.com Service: CafePress.com will solely and exclusively own all intellectual property and other rights, title and interest in and to the CafePress.com Service, and CafePress.com will have the sole and exclusive right to obtain trademark and copyright registrations, patents and other protection therefor, and you will not acquire any right, title or interest therein, under this Agreement or otherwise.

That clause seems harmless. If I read it correctly, CafePress is protecting themselves from anybody who might attempt to "horn in" on their intellectual property. In other words, peddling shirts through CafePress doesn't give you the right to claim any "ownership" of CafePress.

I am working very hard on finding another screen printer for the merchandise.

Even on Christmas day I was talking to some friends that own a t-shirt shop in West Palm Beach, FL. The details will be worked out as soon as I get home to Louisiana which will be on the 30th.

Please bear with us through this time.

Remember the main goal here is to give you a little something as well as keep this wonderful site up!!! We do apologize for it taking so long.

I was wondering where my t-shirt was. Glad I ran into this thread. I will be patient a bit longer I guess.

SuperFlapy (and anyone else with doubts regarding cafepress):

Anyone can go to Cafepress.com if they want and read the entire scripted contract. Like I said, that quote up there ^ is merely a fraction of their contract. Problem is, contracts can be misinterpreted and we don't have a lawyer.

Regardless of the contract, take a look at their prices, do you guys really want to pay those kind of prices for coffee cups and t's? I doubt it.
