Test Update sv1.0.9.8

December 13, 2003 [sv1.0.9.8.test]

- Fixed some holes in the street where Toons could fall through - (especially in Loopy Lane).
- Fixed Daisy Garden fences to allow jumping onto and standing on.
- Fixed crash when exiting the Factory, or with SpeedChat still open.
- Added new VP elevator opening and closing sound effects, and replaced the music.
- Tweaked the Factory switch coloring.
- New holiday tree lighting!
- New music and sounds in the Factory.
- More grey-screen fixes in the Factory.
- Goons make Toons fall when they are hit.
- Doors and buttons work across zone changes.
- Your Toon will maintain its inertia when jumping from a moving platform.
- Sounds for doors, locks, and buttons have been improved/adjusted.
- Jumping will wake up your Toon, or reset the camera that's looking up/down (by page up/down).
- Various crashes throughout the game fixed.
- Fixed toons getting caught in two different battles at the same time, or being able to walk around while still in battle.
- Fixed missing shadows while in battle.
- Fixed failure to award credit for help-a-new-toon tasks.

Well this update really messed things up. Enter in the HQ factory and pass thru the first door sends everyone into the vast grey unknown,the only way out of it is to TP back to the playground. Happen on both servers and both side and main entrances.

Verified with 3 others toons that the same thing is happening to them so its not just me. Bug reports filed. Hopefully, the disney team is working overtime this weekend.

So those of thinking HQ is coming to Open tomorrow ....LOL not a chance.

In the factory if you appear in the grey simply turn around and go back out the same door you went through, then turn around while the doors are still open and the world graphics usually fill in. This has happened to me every run through and the above has taken care of the problem.

Sure. Everyone wants to play a game that crashes their system every 20 minutes, and requires them to download updates each day to fix bugs. No, that's a frustration that's reserved for the test server, thank you very much. Just settle down and accept the fact that Cog HQ will come to the open server when it's ready, okay?

Amen to that brother. I swear, each day your saying something smart and Im liking ya more and more. Keep it up with the smart talk.


Your right though. People need to be more patient with this. Its not something that can happen overnight. It needs to be perfected. You should be glad your playing while they build. Most companies will hold on to the game till its done then release with bugs and you have to wait for patches for it.

Another bug from this update which I reported was:

When you engaged your Jelly Bean Jar you couldn't get off of it, whenever you clicked Cancel or Ok it kept re-engaging. After about the 10th time, Alt F4 was my friend
