Sounds kinda fishy to me. Any lawyers (real ones, not those who think they know) that can suggest what they think?

You can check in the toontown control panel if you want email from disney reguarding special offers, toontown, or if you want disney to use your email and share it with their partners. Because I only have email reguarding toontown checked i do not got spam or special offers from disney.

New European Laws have come into effect which basically states that all sites offering a sellable product has to have a clearly defined policy on privacy, with an opt-out option.
"The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulation" came into force 11th December 2003 (Thursday). Since a lot of people are from Europe, and Disney have European offices, Disney are probably just covering their backs.
