Connecting to TT difficulties - Disney speaks

This is currently displayed at the top of the ToonTown website pages:
Toontown Game Server News: Some Internet Service Providers are currently experiencing network difficulties which may or may not affect your connection to Toontown. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience!

Personally I'm not sure that this explains anything, but yeh, there is the official explanation.

It's actually a choice set of words. Sounds like they're blaming OUR ISPs for trouble connecting to their service. "Some Internet Service Providers are currently experiencing network difficulties..." Doesn't actually say there are problems with the game servers and their connections to the Internet.

If your ISP closed the port it could cause this problem. This happen in SWG a few months back.

There weren't problems with the game servers or Disney's internet providers. A set of Wiltel and Comcast (formerly AT&TBI) routers on the east coast had incorrect routing information leading them to misroute packets destined for the network that Toontown's account server lives on. Any user of these services, as well as any users whose packets transversed the problem networks, had problems connecting to toontown (as well as other sites using resources on that network).

Cool, thanks for the correct and more informative messages. I'm a part-time conspiracy theorist and corporate accountability freak. Always seem to think the big corporation is out to pass the buck for its flaws. Figured Disney was trying to do that here, it's not OUR fault but *some* ISP's fault.

Thanks,
Wetrat
