Kind of a noob question about the CJ battle

I was on a loooong and drawn out CJ battle with the CCG last night and I was wondering.. how do you know when you're close to victory? He constantly flashes red but I can't tell when we're almost done. We were in there forever and no one was close to dying, yet everyone was insisting we go back to the playground.

The evidence pan will be close to the bottom. It never touches the bottom, but it does go down very far. I wasn't there, but I can guess that no one was throwing evidence into the pan. That is the only way to win a CJ battle. People get hung up on having too many people stun the cogs - if people know what they are doing, there shouldn't be more than 3 on cogs. That isn't the way CCG does it, though. Also, if people are throwing evidence over or under the pan, you will never win. Personally, I always had much faster wins going with randoms in river.

There were a lot of people throwing evidence into the pan. It was flashing purple and there was brown smoke. Does that mean it went in?

When I hit the pan, it flashes blue and I hear a faint "ding" sound. Was the pan going down? Maybe you had a weird bug where the pan wouldn't go down?

Yeah it was going down. I'll have to pay more attention to the ding sound next time. Thanks for your help.
