Um, can't people just walk on the sidewalk? That way, they don't have to hit the cogs NOR use your "I'm not gunna say stupid but it is stupid but I wanna be tactfull so I'm not gunna say stupid" idea.

First of all, You REALLY dont have to be mean do you? And second of all, Some people like to run freely on the sidewalks without bumping into cogs! Just like cars!
