Rules to make a good contest.

When making a contest there are things that are needed. Now, I know you probably don't like this word but I have to say it. Rules!

Nessacary beginnings
1.When making a contest try to think of something original. Some topic that you have came up with on your own.

2.Search for a contest that is similar to yours. Or you can not claim that was your original idea.

3.Always have a plan B. If someone is currently making a contest and they don't want you to make one just like yours you need one. So, you will have to go back to step one.

Posting your contest
1.You need to give your title a good name. Here is a good example:
Quote:
Make a game!
Okay, now here is a bad example:
Quote:
OMG! Check out this best contest ever!!!!!!!!!!111
See the problem? #1 had a perfect idea of what the contest is about. One the other hand, #2 leaves you with questions. Ask yourself would you rather join contest one or two?

2.Explain your contest. You need to explain how the contest goes. So, they understand.

3.Give a good amount of contestants. A good number would probably be between 8-20. Think about it. 3 is pretty little, and 36 is way too much. 8 through 20 should do.

4.Give an unexpected twist. Think of something that will suprise the contestants.

5.I recomend making colors to represent what stage you are in. Excuses, normal, handed your work in, disqualified, etc. That can be very helpful for contestants.

After your post
1.You may need to change the number of contestants. If a lot are joining quickly you may want to add 2 or 3 spots more. It's okay. Same goes for if not a lot are joining. Don't be afraid to take away some spots. I recommend taking or adding 2-5 spots.

2.Remind your contestants. In case your contestants haven't posted in a while make sure you pm them. That will refresh their memory.

3.Have a postive attitude. It will make contestants happier. And you will be too.

4.Most importantly. DO NOT QUIT! Please stay dedicated to your work. Your contestants will be so disapointed.

5.The other most importantly, have fun! (And be fair)
