Well you are a toontown legend

Thanks again,

So maybe someday your pawprints will grace toontown! But I think I liked this year a little more. Last year was special because I had never been to Disney Studios. As you can see, I am not just a toontown fan but a huge (literally and figuratively) Disney fan...(putting the massive in Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)....

anyway...this year was better but last year was special because it was all suprise. My favorite things this year were...toon hall...which being at the of the walk and behind something I think didn't get the attendance it would have in a more central location. It was another ask a developer. Toons lined up for questions. Joe Shochet and I think Mike Goslin were manning it. They are also Disney Legends...very much a part of creating the game start to finish.

Then there was "Behind the Scenes"...I just LOVED this. They had a video presentation of the evolution of toontown. Shots from DisneyQuest and Epcot that inspired Toontown and these devs had worked on the games there. They showed how they looked at other MMORPGs and showed the menacing art from those just wasn't gonna fly...( I so agree )..to me it is the art of Toontown that may be the glue that keeps me. I have been frustrated wanting a "harder" game sometimes but I look at the screenshots from the other games and I think...I need happy and silly in my life. I also don't want a game in my house that could be unsafe for my child...I appreciate Toontowns safety features. There was an artist who had been with the game from the beginning and I complimented him on keeping the game themed so perfectly. They showed shots of the original toontown concept art and ideas they did not use. It was all fascinating. Then they showed the Beta and how it evolved. They answered questions. That was a lot of fun.

The Sneek Peeks was so fun too. We got to see gardening. As you know we got to see the next gags coming. They did not explain exactly how you get them...just to do with gardening. Currently, you can only plant all levels of one gag. I think I am digging up my trees as I was the Powerpoint Lure presentation. That was just too funny. Also I thought sound was brilliant. "Its not over till the fat Lady sings" opera toon. Glad they didn't ask me to sing.

I asked if it would be as hard to get the flowers ( cause they have trophies like speedway and fish) as it is to fish. He said no it would not have the "random" aspect of fishing. Phew.

Anyway...this year WAS better. This is purely my speculation but I think it would be a viable choice to move it to Disneyland's Toontown if they want to be able to handle more toons. I don't know if I want to see that though. I like going to the studios...its a special chance. Got to shop in the studio store, look at the Disney Legends, and all the specialness a Disney Fan like me could want. The advantage of moving it to Disneyland would just be that it sold out and they could get more in there. They could use the theatre next to Toontown for "Toon Hall" and make all the presentations there. Since they do things like Grad Nite and parties at Disneyland on off hours this could be done.

I know a lot of toons want it to be East Coast. I'd be careful what you wish. Because I don't think they can fly to whole crew out to Florida. It would change toonfest in a way I would not want to see if only the "most important" cast got to come to Florida. The interaction with the cast is what makes toonfest special and I would hate to see that dynamic change. Even this year, they had to hire people who didn't know what Toontown was to help. I didn't mind that they were nice Disney type people...but most everyone working there knew the game and understood what it was all about. That matters.

There is just a feeling about it that you are a guest in a very special place with very special hosts...no form letter answers!....

Thanks Disney for a great day! Maybe a Legends Plaza for the pawprints of Loopy Goopy Zooblezapper and Lemonpuff and crew make in online....

they should have had some of the great toons
mr monkey bites -125
melissa- 125
Kit T. Kat- 109, soon to be 110, (ME)
Tiger-120
all 125 toons

have their footprints and handprints, in the Toon Hall Of Fame (like hollywood walk of fame thing)

get a pic of you and put your toon next to you and have you in your fav playground, and post it next to he hand and foot prints

but it would be only for famous toons

and also i know a web site where cast members post, and there were some CM's that attended toonfest (security guards and other CM's) and what their opinions were on it, i can make a new topic about it if ya wanna hear what they said

I love that idea

I wish there could be more interaction with cast. But so far they only come out of their cubicles once a year.....

It would be nice if they could do an online question and answer event...they could even do their presentation for everyone and have it as a webcast. That is a really nice idea.

oh gosh I think I remember you

did I talk to your mom at the end as we were leaving?

I don't think you told me you were Pie Rate when I met you though. I am not very good at remembering people and if I had known it was you when I was talking to you I would have made a big fuss and probably wanted to hear you sing! Then we could have gone up to Zeke and showed him how we changed his song! That would have been fun!

Gosh I am an airhead!

So many people. Really I did not put it together at the time. What a shame. I had all the words in my purse I would have loved to at least hear you sing it! Hey I sent you a PM too. Was your mom the one I talked to at the very end? She asked about the singing.

Hi Tinkercat,

Thank you so much for posting your pics. My daughter said she would post our pics of toonfest but since they are really only of our family I said no. (Her name is princess bubbles 1st on the forum) So sorry to those who expected to see those pics. Tinkercat's pics are very thorough of what toonfest was like, and ours really would not have added anything.

We had a wonderful time. Talking to the developers was the highlight of the day. We also felt like they had worked very hard to make it a great time for us. There was definetely that personal touch on everything. The pins, like you said, are very nice. I was thrilled to get them since I had looked for them at Disneyland and they dont sell them there. We loved seeing the history of Disney and our kids loved putting their hands into the handprints of all the big Disney names. It was very cool.

Something I havent heard mentioned here was that when we attended the Toon Hall (the 3:00pm one) one person asked about an expanded friends list. They said that adding additional friends to everyones list would add too much of a burden on the servers BUT then they asked if we would be willing to pay for extra spots with jbs. We said YES! It seems to me that they really want to make us happy. Its just a matter of making it work. So, if only the people who really want the extra friends spots and are willing to pay for them get them, it is less of a server burden overall. They didnt say this was going to happen, but since they posed the question of buying additional spots they have given it consideration already.

Another thing asked was if we will ever be able to play multiple toons on the same acct at once. They said they are working on it. Also, they are working on providing toontown for Mac computers.

Someone also made a comment about the "grey" area. They said (jokingly) "Have you noticed that green is the new grey?" They did not say anything positive or negative about glitching. They said, "If you like it, its our fault, if you dont like it, its not our fault." lol. But then they reminded us to send in any reports of bugs we find in the game.

One more thing. They said the polls they do on the front page are very important to them. They design the game based on those polls. So whatever wins the poll usually gets put on the top of their list.

We had a wonderful time at Toonfest. It was even better than I thought it would be. Tinkercat, I saw you when we were going into the dining area and your family was sitting outside at one of the tables. Im sorry I didnt stop to say hi. You were already gone when we came out. You guys looked great with your costumes. I did talk to your son over at the racing area since I noticed he had the t-shirt on with all the toons on your acct. We decided next year we will get much more into it and do t-shirts at the least. It was so fun to see all the people who loved toontown like us.

excellent post and Hi Princess Twinkletoes

Yes, I saw many of those questions though I wish I had been there to hear "green is the new grey" thats funny!

Also heard they were looking at ways to expand friends list. I like the jellies idea. Who says you can't buy friends?

Next year we'll have to meet! Glad you got to talk to my son. He was a huge help to me this weekend...nice to have grown up kids! He watched my little one when I wanted to do something different.
