I've forgotten...

Hi - its been a while since I maxxed a toon on gardening (I have 3), but I have a 4th who is very close to getting the ability to plant 8 bean flowers (tomorrow, actually.)

I'm trying something special with this toon, so I don't want to get my final laff point until the same day I get my final laff point on all other TT activities (max all HQ, golf, racing, fishing and flowers on the same day).

Anyway, I've forgotten the mechanics of maxing flowers - I should plant 8 bean flowers, but only 4 of the 5 8 bean varieties, right? I can go ahead and max the shovel, and then plant the final flower variety, but not pick it until my maxing day, right? As I recall, you get the laff boost when you turn in the flowers, right?

Thanks for clearing this up -

Craig

planting and picking is OK, turning it new flower is when you get laff

Yes, you are correct that you won't get the laff boost until you turn in the new flower.

It's OK to plant and pick them, just don't turn them in until you are ready for the laff boost.

"fun" wasn't one of the words that came to my mind.

Honestly, it could be another 2 years before Disney brings out the 9 and 10 bean flowers and that would suit me just fine. I still haven't recovered from the last search. It really took it's toll on me. I would recommend Little Pearl to lead the effort but I wouldn't be that mean to anyone.

Let's hope that 9 and 10 bean flowers are low on Disney's list of todo's.

Well, just know that I'm very thankful to you and all the other Toons for figuring out those combos. You guys worked so hard.

You don't know the half of it! People who just come to the site and "voila" there are the combos have no idea -

Andrew and Little Pearl's efforts, in my opinion, were the single most amazing accomplishment since I've been playing Toontown.

Not to discount what anyone else has done on TT, like maxxing BBHQ in 19 days or anything, but Andrew and Little Pearl would plant as many as 20,000 (twenty thousand!) jellybeans in a day.

Think about it - when you plant your 10 8 bean flowers you used 80 beans. Multiple that by 2,500!

Thats trying out 2,500 different combos a day, and keeping count of every single one tried. At the same time they were doing that, they were orchestrating about 75 or so of us who were "merely" trying about 5-7,000 beans a day (we had add'l beanfests on occasion to make filling up jars faster) by parsing out groupings for us to test. I know I used well over 100,000 beans.

I personally was more exhausted testing another set of 400 combos than I ever get fishing or racing or any of the other tasks. Remember, there were a potential 42 MILLION combos to try (although logic got that down to about 2-4 million) I'm not sure of the final totals, but I think we did the 8 beans using only about 800,000 combos (or 6,400,000 jellybeans.)

See what I mean? - that's why I have said that Andrew (with a nod to Little Pearl as well) is my TT hero!

Craig,

Thanks for the post. There were countless toons working together to accomplish that search and while Little Pearl, Kookyface and myself helped to coordinate the TTC effort, there were others out there working together to unlock all of the various combinations.

What struck me as 'this being the single most amazing accomplishment' was not any one person's effort but, rather, the combined effort of all of us in searching for the combinations. Here was the one activity in TT that truely didn't matter what your laff count was, or your unique skill set. What mattered was that anyone and everyone could contribute and the fun part of it was sharing in the search and being a part of the bigger effort.

That's why I'm so greatful! Had I kept up with you guys, I would've been more than happy to help you in you search. I can't even imagine how hard it must've been to try out all those combos, and also keep track of them. You guys helped so many people and so many more to come.

OMG - don't give me a heart attack like that - 9 bean flowers - seriously - without some logical pattern to work from, 9 is more than 300,000,000 potential combinations....thats three hundred million combinations * 9 jellybeans = 2 billion 7 hundred million jellybeans....that's why Andrew is in no hurry to coordinate a 9 or 10 bean search....lol.....
