Gardening 101

NOTE: This entire guide, including images that wouldn't fit here, is in the Wiki at DoW Gardens

Gardening 101

Note: This is a WORK IN PROGRESS.

Chapter 1 : How to get started?Chapter 2 : I got the Garden package now what!
Chapter 3 : Let's plant some flowers!
Chapter 4 : Let's plant some trees!
Chapter 5 : Flower Harvesting
Chapter 6 : Shovel Points
Chapter 7 : Watering Can points
Chapter 8 : When do I get Laff?
Chapter 9 : What beans combos for the different flowers?

Chapter 1 : How to get started?

You will be able to order you garden kit from your cattlelog. The cost of this kit is currently set at 50 jellybeans and will arrive shortly aftering ordering. Also, you will notice that the cattlelog contains statues that you may purchase once your gardening skill is higher.

Once the package arrives in your mailbox it will explain a little more about gardening and your tree locations, flower pots, wheelbarrow, and statue base will pop into view.

Chapter 2 : I got the Garden package now what!

Now you need to plant some flowers and decided which gag trees you want planted.

If you look at your sticker book you will notice a new page for gardening with a few different sections. On these pages you can tell how many shovel and watering can points you have. A list of flowers that you have picked and if you have any special gardening items.

As you can see this looks alot like the, sorry UBERS, fishing page. It has basically the same layout as the fishing page with the exception of the Specials page.

I will cover the tabs briefly.

The first tab is the Basket tab which allows you to see the flowers in your basket and also has your stats for Shovel and Watering Can points.

The next tab is Album tab and just like in Fishing this shows you all the flowers that you have picked up to that point.

Next is the Trophies tab which contain you gardening trophies you receive when growing 10, 20, 30, and 40 different flowers.

Finally the last tab is the Specials which will show your InstaGrow Fertelizer and Statues if they have been purchased.

Chapter 3 : Let's plant some flowers!

Ok now let's get our paws dirty!
Hmmmm! monkeys, ducks, and horses don't have paws do they?

Anyway, it's time to add some beauty to your toon estate and give your doodles something to eat and/or water!

Step up to YOUR flower box/pot and your will see this appear where the chat/speedchat is.

Just go right ahead and click on the PLANT button and you get....

Now you can either choose to figure out the beans to plant yourself OR you could scroll down to Chapter 9 where the beans and combo's are listed out for you. It's your choice! Once you plant something you will get a screen similar to this one.......

Ubers will be able to beautify their estates also because they can just plant one of each flower over and over again. Since the combo's only go to 8 you will never get the 10th flower to get that dreaded extra laff point.

OK, we got those flowers planted now lets go water each one of them once. Here is a picture of two flowers one watered and the other dry as a bone.

And what happens if your flowers/trees aren't watered? Well does THIS look familar?

Just give it a little water and it will spring back to life.

Finally, if this is after day one of planting don't foget to run around and top off your trees with a little water.

Flowers will grow at Midnight Pacific time NO MATTER WHEN planted. Woo hoo! I verified this by planting 5 minutes before midnight. NOTE: You will have to go back to playground and then back to estate to see the growth cycle!

If you need to remove a flower that you have planted then walk right up to the flower and click...

Chapter 4 : Let's plant some trees!

Now you need to decided which type/types of trees you want to plant. You have 8 locations to plant trees for you toon and NO you cannot pick from other toons trees. Little toons will more than likely broaden their tree base and then consolidate to one gag as they grow while bigger toons will probably go for one gag at a time.

Remember no matter what you plant you need the lower gag trees planted in order to have your higher gags active.

If you want that extra boost on your FOG you need to have ALL the lower sound gags planted and HEALTHY.

Currently it takes 3 days for a tree to mature and you will start to receive the bonus one day before the tree produces gags.

How do you tell if you bonus is active? That's a very good question and you will notice a change in your gag selection screen. I bet you can see it!

You can look below to see the added damage for the Organic Gag Bonus or you can calculate it yourself. Organic gags give a 10% increase in the gags strength. Note that anything below 1 such as .3 will be rounded to one but once you are above 1 only round DOWN.

Note: These values are for gags that are maxxed for that level. If you gag isn't maxxed then the value may be a little lower.

Throw Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +1
Level 3 +1
Level 4 +2 WILL destroy a lured level 5 with lure bonus
Level 5 +4
Level 6 +10 WILL destroy a lured level 11 with lure bonus

Squirt Gags
Level 1 +1 bonus
Level 2 +1 bonus
Level 3 +1 bonus
Level 4 +2 bonus
Level 5 +3 bonus
Level 6 +8 bonus

Trap Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +2
Level 3 +3
Level 4 +5
Level 5 +7
Level 6 +18

Sound Gags
Level 1 sound +1
Level 2 sound +1
Level 3 sound +1
Level 4 sound +1
Level 5 sound +2
Level 6 sound +5

Drop Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +1
Level 3 +3
Level 4 +4
Level 5 +6
Level 6 +17

Toon Up Gags
Level 1 +1
Level 2 +1
Level 3 +3
Level 4 +4
Level 5 +7
Level 6 +12

UBERS will be very interested in knowing the following and avoiding the dreaded MISS in Skele round of VP

Planting lure will increase the accuracy of it hitting the cogs.

Ok, now you have your trees planted lets get those things watered. I would advise watering the trees 8 times each as you never know when your going to miss a day or two of being on TT.

Again trees grow at Midnight Pacific Time but it seems that gags don't sprout until after the time you planted them. I'm still verifying about the gags sprouting!

If you need to remove a tree that you have planted then walk right up to the tree and click...
Well, I haven't verified that so you may have to harvest gags first!

Chapter 5 : Flower Harvesting

My flowers grew now what do I do! Well walk right up to that flower and you'll see this box appear.

Click pick and you will see the following...!

After picking all the flowers walk up to the wheelbarrow and you'll see this. Again, it looks like fishing.....

Chapter 6 : Shovel Points

You earn a shoveling point for harvesting flowers and increasing your shovel points will allow you to plant flowers using multiple beans. After increasing in points for a bean combination you will no long be able to earn points for bean combo's lower. This means that if you are able to plant 3 bean combo's you can grow one, two, and three bean flowers but you only EARN points for the three bean combo's.

One bean combo 0 - 40 shoveling points
Two bean combo 41 - 80 shoveling points (receive BRONZE shovel)
Three bean combo 0 - 80 shoveling points
Four bean combo 81 - 160 shoveling points (receive STEEL shovel)
Five bean combo 0 - 160 shoveling points
Six bean combo 161 - 320 shoveling points (receive SILVER shovel)
Seven bean combo 0 - 320 shoveling points
Eight bean combo 321 - 640 shoveling points

Remember to check your cattlelog every so often for statues that you may be able to purchase. This usually occurs after a shovel change. Pay close attention to what is said after buying the statue because it is important and it may be missed.

removed images of donald statue due to limitations

Atleast that Donald won't bug you or look like he REALLY shouldn't be piloting that boat!

Chapter 7 : Watering Can points

Each time you water a flower or tree that hasn't been watered fully, you will receive a watering point.

Small Watering can 0 - 99 points Will keep plants watered 1-2 days per water
Medium Watering can 100 - 199 points Will keep plants watered 3-4 days per water
Large Watering can 200 - 699 points Will keep plants watered 5-6 days per water
Huge Watering can 700+ points Will keep plants watered 7-8 days per water
Number of times you can water a new plant:

Small Can - 5
Medium Can - 3
Large Can - 2
Huge Can - 1

Yes you CAN water your other toons flowers/trees! You can even water your friends when they are at there estate. Notice the change in the box... no pick/plant

Chapter 8 : When do I get Laff?

You will gain a laff point when you grow 10, 20, 30, and 40 unique flowers. I find it easier to grow the different combo's of flowers the first day of planting and then plant all the same until the next combo is active. Maybe I'm just lazy!

Chapter 9 : Bean combo's?

Do to space limitations this guide while complete does not have all the images loaded to see a complete verison please refer to the following page http://www.disneysonlineworlds.com/index.php/Gardens

Um I always have picked my gags off the tree every day, and I always still get the bonus in battle. In fact there is no other way to get gags than at the gag shop. Even when you pick gags you don't recieve any gags that you can use. You still have to go to the gag shop. I'd just like to know what you base this loseing gag bonus assumption on.

hmm, i think the guide should

give credit to the people on test that have been posting this information.

I see my posts have been used word for word.

Other toons that are doing a bunch of the flower growing work are Little Pearl, Andrew, Crazy Purplepounce.

Crazy Purplepounce is the only toon that has found the five bean flower combinations. NOw others of us are on the bandwagon for five bean flowers so we should have that cracked in no time.

Also, drop gag Level 6, the piano, should be changed to a +17 bonus.

A few versions back I picked gags off the trees and RECEIVED gags from the trees. Once these gags were used I lost my bonus for that gag.

I will check again as an update might have changed this but it is always safer to buy gags rather than pick them.

I had given credit to other players on test and yes I did use the information you had posted about a week ago but during conversion from a different format it was removed on accident. That is ok I will rewrite the section on gag bonus so that it will not overlap your post in the test forum.

EDIT: I have just reread you post in the TEST forum and while you do have a list of the bonuses you never state that it is 10% but if you would care to read a few posts down I DO state that. Using THAT information I can figure out for myself what the bonuses would be and there is only so many ways you can you can list out the information.

Gag bonus is ACTUALLY 10% of current damage anyway so I will straighten that post up by the end of the week.

As for 17 yes that is 10% of the 170 a maxxed piano does but what if the person isn't maxxed and as stated EARLIER and the second line in the post

WORK IN PROGRESS

Update for the shovels

Tin 0 - 80
Bronze 0 - 160
Silver 0 - 320

Steel is a shovel, because I received as an error on August 31, but I still do not have it listed in my book.

I did not, though I found the planting info on the specials page, saying plant donald with one green JB.
Mahalo for the guide.

Thanks for the GREAT gardening guide! It will really help me when I am able to do some gardening! I'm in N.H. right now and my aunt doesn't have Toontown. I'll have to wait until I get home to play. Thanks again! -Meg-(AKA Toontown name-Violet McDoodle)

I have a question. My first gag trees have grown and I got gags from them, so I was going to remove them but something popped up that said, if you remove this gag tree you won't be able to plant the higher level gag trees, so I didn't remove them. Except, I have no more room for gag trees in my garden so what do I do now, do they just dissapear?
