I don't think I noticed these 2 tips in your guide so here goes:
First - If you haven't watered your flowers yet on the day you pick them -water them once before you pick them and get those extra water skill points.
Second - After you plant your flowers, water them at least twice (depending on size of watering can) and you will get those extra water skill points.
Doing this will give you at least 20 extra water skill points each time you garden. ( a total of 30 water skills each time you garden)
One more tip : once one of your toons has maxxed water skills, let the next in line water their trees and flowers for them to get those extra water skill points!
