Gimp

Hello! I've been trying to find a way to download Gimp. Can someone give me the link so I can download Gimp for free on my Macbook Laptop please? One that will contain an application, because I've tried downloading some and it says that it does not contain an application and Im not really sure how to fix that. One time it worked and went it my dock, but when I clicked on it, it forced quit itself. Thanks!

I don't think GIMP is compatible with Macs. As I know of, it never works with them.

hmmmm.... I looked some up and there were ones that were compatiable. when i downloadfed one it wouldnt let me open it cause it said there is no internet connection

Do you have connection now? Why not try it?

You can also go to some search engines, getting information about GIMP and Macs. I'll go see if I can fnd anything for you.

Try searching "gimp for mac" or "how to put gimp on a mac." I believe I had found some nice things doing that. Going to your first or second option should do the trick.

I am a big computer graphics person. I had gimp on my mac for a long time first i need to ask if you have leopard or the Mac OSX operating system? Gimp has a Mac OSX version but the leopard version is still in development. Currently I do not have gimp because I have leopard. If you have Mac OSX, go here: Gimp website: downloads page

You need to download the "Download GIMP 2.4" one. oh and read the top part of the page, it has a lot of important information about running it. 1 more thing, you have to have the application X11 running to use GIMP.

How do I find out if I have that application? srry, i dont know anything. if i dont have it, could i get it?

search it in the finder, if you do not have X11, it comes with all macs, it is on a CD and you have to install it.

I have to ask, what is GIMP? I just got a macbook, first mac. I LOVE it! Forget Windows LOL! Hubby is soooooooooooooooo jealous. I laugh when his computer takes forever to boot up! Anyway what is gimp? I am running safari. The latest mac os updates. Had the laptop about a month. Thanks for any info! Also how do I do the whole alt f9 like window users do? I know how to do the alt 4 which is command q. Had to find that the hard way LOL!
