Laptop function key annoyance

I am on a Macbook, so I don't have a full keyboard layout, with dedicated keys for page up, page down, home, and end respectfully. However, I am able to access the functions of the aforementioned keys by using the function (fn) key, and holding down the arrow keys respectively. However, sometimes when I do this, I get stuck turning around and around in circles or stuck going in one direction. I also have to use fn-delete during the memory game on the trolley, and I get stuck going one direction, which is not very helpful and loses me jellybeans. Any tips? Thanks.
Oh, and also, my sister just got a MacBook Pro, and the graphics are really wonky, flashing blue and purple-ish colors every so now. Is this a recurring problem among fellow mac users? Thanks for your help.

Fellow mac user!

The new MacBook Pros seem to suffer some problems with ToonTown's graphics, as mine is doing the same thing! Blue flashy 3d objects. I hope Apple releases a fix for the graphics card... This must be a MacBook Pro-wide problem!

As for your keyboard problem! Yes, that happens to me as well. Unfortunately, I have only found one way around it. I used an external keyboard with the correct keys. Sorry, but that's all I can think of!

*Prays for Apple to release a graphics card update*

The running around thing is annoying, happens on the iMac too. Just hit forward and back, and that should do it. One time, I triggered a door and ran into a shop! Hee hee.

When I play trolley games, I play with my daughter and make her run around while I just turn over one card at a time. She is 5 and a half, so that suits her just fine. She is the only one I play trolley games with frequently, lol.

I remapped my option key on the wireless keyboard with the function key, so I can jump with my thumb, which I do on the PC.

Let us know if you find any other solutions.

I have the same problem especially while throwing pies at the VP. It caused me all sorts of panic attacks, but then I found that if you hold down the Apple command key and the arrow of the direction you're going, it gets you out of it quickly.

Hope this helps.

Oh and about the flashing blue problem with the MacPro, it's mostly the newer MacPros that came out in June that have that problem. They used a different graphics card when they decided to sell the better, faster MacPros with a 2.4GHz processor and the NVIDIA GeForce card.

I had bought a MacPro (2.33GHz and the ATY,Radeon graphics card) earlier this year in March and it doesn't have any of the problems on Toontown that the newer MacPros constantly have. I did buy another one when it came out in June and wish I had bought two back in March instead. The flashy blue background and objects make me want to stop playing Toontown.

Add me to the list of wonky graphics issues. It drives me crazy, I hope they come up with a fix soon.
I also get stuck running in circles and what not, but it only stresses me when I am in the VP!
Also, can anyone glitch on their MacBookPro? I can when I use my PC, but not on the Mac.

Yeah, that happens all of the time when I play on my laptop. I basically just have to jump around until it stops.

The graphics issue for Macbook Pros with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600m GT has been a complaint here on TTC for a while. I don't have that laptop so it would be hard for me to send a bug report on that TT could actually use to get on that problem.

For the function key issue, you can switch around the function keys so that you don't have to press fn to use the function key, and you have to press fn if you want to do what the labels suggest. It is in system preferences somewhere. For the problem with the graphics, I have that as well.

ok, im a Fellow Mac user *kissing macbook* i LOVE macs

this is the solution to your problem....

When pressing the fn key and holding down the arrow key(s).. dont release the arrow key b-4 you release the fn key.

If you happen to accidentally do not this, just press they arrow key of which way your going...
For ex. if your running forward, press the up arrow key and you'll stop running

Hope this helps!

Oh my!
I'm so glad that I'm not alone.
I usually hit random keys and hope for the best like winky blubbertoes.
I just tried hitting the up and down keys and it seems to work.

It really became a problem when the key got stuck on forward and I was right in front of the VP stunning. I just kept running into the VP and falling until I got seriously low on laff. I was told it looked pretty fun from afar though. xD

Hehe, so if you see me running around in circles randomly please sympathize.
