Red face Mice, controllers, keypads...

I am posting this in the mac forum because I would need mac accessories or software…

This may sound like overkill, but I am wondering if there are any cool controllers, mice, keypads, or accessories that I can use to play Toontown.

I am playing on a 12-inch PowerBook and after playing for a while, my hand (right) gets fatigued. I am used to playing these kind of games with my left hand using A,S,D,W keys a la World of Warcraft and the like. My left hand never gets fatigued like my right does when playing Toontown.

I can plug in an external keyboard, but the arrow keys are still on the right. I thought about getting an external number pad with arrows and plugging it in on the left, but I am wondering if I have any other cool and comfortable options or even good key mapping software (although I do not really want to remap my keyboard just for this game). Any suggestions?

I think not,

Some might work, but some require the drivers to be properly insatlled on the pc, and most Windows drivers wont work with Mac's

I would suggest the Keypad thing

I have not tried it, but other's say that DoubleCommand from:

http://doublecommand.sourceforge.net/

allows you to remap your keys on a Mac...
Perhaps you CAN use asdw.

Further research: Doesn't look like it, DoubleCommand does not change those keys...
But what about a custom keyboard map...? HMMM...

I am using a Nostromo N52. I bought it originally just to have programmable extra keys for various apps, but it's intended for gaming and works well with toontown. The Nostromo is for left-handed use, so it should meet your needs very well.

I've only used it a bit, but my mapping right now is:
labelled arrow keys for up/down/left/right
Scroll wheel - escape and left right, for shticker book access (I may remap shticker book access to another key and just use the scrollwheel for navigation)
05/10 - home/end for toon tasks and gags
thumb circle button - ctrl for jump (this one doesn't work well, so I will change it)
thumb button (15) - fw insert for pie throwing

It works really well, but I haven't mastered left handed controls yet. If things get sticky, I jump back to right hand on the keyboard. And, of course, there's a lot in toontown you have to use the mouse for. That limits how much you can really do with it.

Hope that helps.
